Which aftermarket K member for daily driving?
I'm daily driving my car again for the time being and im wanting to shed some weight off the car. Currently im running a 6.0L iron block in the car and i need one that is strong enough to hold up but light enough to justify the cost for a nice aftermarket K member. What are some of the actual weight savings with some of these K member?
BMR,Spohn or UMI?

Hello,
Our K-member was designed to be used on both a daily driven car and a track car. Our K-member features additional bracing in areas we feel our needed for a vehicle seeing a lot of street use. My personal car has 30,000 miles on K-member at this time and not one single sign of an issue. Also another key feature we incorporated into our K-member that no other one has in oil pan protection. The lower tube of the K-member is below the oil pan to protect.. other do not feature this.
If you have any additional questions please ask and I will be glad to help. We have them in stock ready to ship

I have the UMI regular one, its stout as hell compared to the PA I had on my old car. Very nicely made and fit perfect. 1 7/8 kooks dropped right in and out as well with it on the car.
I dont remember the weight but it was not as light as the PA for sure, 17lbs lighter than the stock k-mamber if I remember. I did it mainly for header clearance and ease of maintenance over super light weight.

The UMI one is probably the best option for a car that sees alot of street use. Not the lightest, but is still a good bit lighter then stock.
The racecraft race front end, probably the lightest out there, but not even close to something that I would use on a street car.
One other option that alot of people don't think about, is going to a motor plate when you swap in a k member. This solid mounts the motor yes and does cause soem added vibration, but then you can eliminate the motor mounts, making a TON more room for header install and whatnot, and the plate is a GOOD bit lighter then the motor mounts, and stands on the k member.
A umi without any motor mounts at all and the motor mounts themselves are probably 12 to 15 lbs, motor plate I put in my car was about 6 lbs.
So that's a way to pull some weight. Hell you can pull about 15 lbs off the nose of the car with a stock k member if you drop the motor mounts, the heavy cast iron motor stands and go to a motor plate.
Race car stuff yes, some people won't like the idea, but it's an overlooked option that alot of people don't think about.
