Twisted splines inside of front yoke???
Was going to start to adjust my susp setup since our last outing. I wanted to try some things with the rear tq arm. Anyway went to remove the d-shaft and it was a mother F>>>> to get out. Thought it was just me well trying to go back together for 3 hours and I cannot figure out what my problem is. Took a light to the inside of the tailshaft yoke on the d shaft and where it slides in you can see where it started to twist the splines right at the point where the tailshaft sits in the farthest. You can actually see how far the tailshaft slid in and then right after that point the splines are twisted??? WTF it is a Strange CM that has 10 runs at most on and less than a year old. Anyone else seen this happen before???

I had that happen too.
The car won't hook either because it is binding up the suspension.
The problem is your hard hitting clutch. I bet you are running short sidewall drag radial tire. Something has to give when you drop the clutch. Recommend a softer clutch or more sidewall on your tires.

27 x 10.5 15's Full race slicks. Not getting anymore sidewall in the wheel wells than that. When you had the problem did it hurt anything on the trans side? I am going to try to borrow a d shaft/yoke to make sure it did not hurt the tailshaft. Looking in with the light it looks ok but another yoke will tell for sure.

When I had the tranny faceplated I had a viper output shaft installed and the slip yoke for that shaft is much beefier.

No, mine did not hurt anything in the tranny, but the car would not hook. I had to move the rearend aft to get the drive shaft out of the car. You are running a good tire, what about on the street?

How does the splines being twisted hinder hooking??

Mine was a Spicer 1350.
If the yoke can move in and out of the tranny, then when you launch the rearend is pushing the car through the drive shaft by pushing the tranny and not allowing the suspension to do its job.
