I have a PST shaft with a Spicer 1350 yoke that I just checked after reading this thread. Mine still slides in and out smoothly after 200 or so 6000+ rpm launches. Obviously, twisted splines can be caused by a drive shaft that is too short which reduces spline engagement.

I had a LS7 clutch I highly doubt that was the problem. I did dump it at 6800-7000 rpm's a few times though. I asked midwest chassis what slip yoke they recommend and they said there is no yoke guaranteed to last on a 6 speed with slicks, but they have had the best luck with the strange chromemoly one. This is the one I went with http://www.jegs.com/i/Strange+Engine...U1667/10002/-1

I have twisted up a yoke and broke a output at different times. When the car was a 6 speed still it had a Viper Outshaft and Mark Williams yoke. No more issues at all! Really nice stuff. On the TH400, I also run a Mark Williams shaft and yoke.
I have the stock splined T56 Strange billet yoke if you need one cheap. It is like new and just collecting dust. PM if your interested.

I broke a forged spicer unit and then switched to a billet Moser for a powerglide. Think it was around 160.00 if memory serves... Same dimensions and spline count as the stock T56 and has removable caps for easy U-joint service. Haven't been to the track with it much since replacing it so I can't really comment on how it's holding up.

My spricer was not forged or any heat treat. It was for some OD auto it was longer and had so spines for the 1st 3.4 was just smooth for a Oring or something I was told? Just cut it off and deburred it with a cutoff wheel went low 1.4s wheels up and 100's of 1.5 at 6500. went thu 3 clutchs, twsited 35spine S60 axles, broke a true trac, 3 sets of Drs. I was something like $17.80 . I have no idea how its fine.

I removed my bump stops and did the slip yoke. Best 60' was a 1.62 but I only made 3 passes. Thats a big improvement over my 1.85-1.88's I was cutting. I'm having some issues above 5600 rpm sputtering and popping so I was just concentrating on the launch. I did run 1 full pass at the end of the night, 11.1 @ 127 with a 1.75 60' blowing the tires off. Not too bad for 26" tall tires, 3.50 gears, lowered slp bilsteins and springs with stock lower control arms Looked like 3100' DA.
