what will it take to get into the 10s
i was wondering aobut how much rwhp it takes to get a car that weighs 3200 lbs with me in it to run into the 10s? i have a 3600 fuddle stall and the only thing i need to finish off the suspension is a umi tunnel mounted torque arm.

im not sure what elevation i am at. i am in central missouri if thhat tells you anything. the tracks closed for the winter around here before i got a chance to run the car. then the engine popped so now i am building a 12.3 to 1 compression 383. it will be forged so i can put some spray to it but i needed a target horsepower to shoot for

If you get it to 450 rwhp n/a thru the auto that should run well into the 10's n/a
Hell with 445 @ 3600 lbs when I first put the 402 in my car it went 10.8 to 10.9 n/a all day long. Only weight reduction I had done was the bogarts, and the a/c condenser and pump didn't go back in when the motor swap and th400 swap was done.
You throw nitrous on the 383 and you better start thinking bottom 10's, maybe 9's depending on what it makes for motor power.

28 inch radial, or 27 inch hooiser qtp, and I ws running a 4.10's, car was trapping aorund 123 to 124 at first.
I did swap to a tight nitrous converter, and 3.73's.. got the car down to 3350 and it went 10.9 @ 132 like that. End of the day, I think 4.10 or 3.73 would work, it's more in the converter.

You should have no problem with the 383 and spray getting into the 10s. I would call Ray at nitrous outlet his car runs a lt1 car and runs in the 9s.
I would just call him on monday.

I'd call lenny at ultimate converter concepts, and have him build one for your setup. You'll be 100% better off with that.
If you're set on using a sponsor on this board, circle D would get my vote. Other decent options would be ATI, or FTI from my exp. ATI makes a really good piece for Th400 and glide setups, not sure about your stock tranny though.

The 3.90's will be fine, that junk fuddle converter, I'd use that as a boat anchor.

For n/a I'd go 5000 to be honest, nitrous 4200 or so should work. What trans you plan on going with also, the first gear ratio and whatnot will effet that some.
(just have someone build you one for your setup and chances are you'll be 10 times better off then running something off the shelf)
