There's a ton of variables to take into consideration but normally a sway bar delete with help out in the 60ft 1-2 tenths with sticky tires. With that being said most LS1s pick up about 1-2 tenths in the 1/4 for every tenth you gain in the 60ft. Take your current times and do the math. Like I said, many variables to consider, if you want to post up some more info we might be able to help you better. Ex. Tires, tranny type, tack DA, current times etc...

I know my current times suck with street tires but just loosening the ends on the sway bar dropped my 60' a tenth on 275/40/17 Nexens. M6 car no traction with street tires either way but it does help a little more. My SS has the slp up level suspension package so its a real stiff ride. With the sway bar unhooked it transfers weight a little better.

When it's disconnected it's hanging there because it is still connected to the endlinks right by the struts. It's very easy to remove and re-install, I completely removed mine and I drive it like that everywhere. BTW it weights roughly 15lbs. so getting that weight off the nose is always a good thing. I don't corner carve nor do I DD the car otherwise I would have put it back on.
To the OP. A 1" drop will not hinder performance assuming you run some LCA relocation brackets ~$90 to make up for the lost geometry. When you lower the car it makes the LCA angle more parallel to the ground when you want it more slanted because that will press the tires down on the ground harder. An adjustable panhard is always a good idea too when lowering a car but it's not mandatory.

I would completely remove it just to get the weight off the front. You will really notice a big increase in body roll when cornering and need to be very carefull.
