Default I was wondering about this?

Does anyone run a th400 with a 3.42 or 3.23 gear at all? Whats the lowet gear you can keep in the car and still get real good 60fts out of? I understand you can just put a bigger stall in the car and it will make up for a gear but can this accomplished at all or not?

Has anyone got good info or proven data?

I had a 3.42 10-bolt under my car with the TH400 when ran the times below. It saw some 1.45's (on the bottle) before I killed it.

If you have enough power and a tall tire, a 3.42 will be fine and it will still maintain street manners.

I seen someone at the track with a similar setup, h/c/i and nitrous. OFf the bottle it was running high 10s and high 9s with a bottle. But he says he had a 3.23 gear with a 400 and a big stall. He also had a 26" tire only

Yeah... My stall is tight as he'll to keep streetability and the ability to run a MUCH bigger shot in the future. I'd love to be able to swap in a super loose converter and see the car run deep in the high half of the 9's on the little shot that's in it

A buddy of mine has that with 3.23s and using nitrous out the gate and cutting 1.4x but he has a 4000 stall
