Tommy (3gun) decided to come down and make some passes int he car this weekend. I met him out @ HRP Saturday mroning, and we made some passes in the car. Along the way we managed a new personal best.

Even hot lapping the car, it still runs really strong as you can see from the slips. DA was -880 or so out on the track. Tommy took the car and went out to the track on Friday, and after driving the car out there, he decided he didn't like the way the clutch felt. John Myrick came by the shop on the way to the track, and he and Tommy sort of went out there together, as I had prior commitments. John and I had been discussing how Ron Adee didn't like the way the McLeod clutch felt on his car either (the MTI One Lap of America winning car). Ron's solution was to remove the spring on the clutch pedal. This spring helps you push the clutch down, it also keeps the clutch from coming back up as quickly, and may be part of the reason for the clutch pedal sticking on some cars. So, John popped the spring off with a screwdriver, and Tommy immedaitely was much happier with the clutch's opperation.
Anyhow, we went out on Saturday like I said and made a few passes on the car. I'm going to be doing some work on the clutch and a few other things to the car this week. I'm hoping that maybe next weekend to try and beat those numbers, but only time will tell. Stay tuned for further details...

2nd- sorry to kinda go off topic... but, Is this correct?(that the clutch pedal RETURN spring actually helps push the pedal down, not pull it back up?) The reason I ask is this is the first time I have heard this, and I just found my third broken spring on my floor mat yesterday. My pedal hung on me last year while racing w/out a spring on it(and fried my clutch) and I blamed it on the spring not being there.
Maybe I'm better off w/out it?
Thanks!
