I'd almost swear they were the same length. I have an M6 driveshaft hooked up to my A4 without issues.

I thought I recall them being exactly same or atleast the driveshaft will work in both transmissions!

They are the same. I made the swap on my own car and used the same driveshaft. All 93-02 Driveshafts are the same length.

Me to, I made a change from the stock aluminum M6 to a auto steel and fit perfect.

To add, I had a custom 3" from Denny's done for my 12 bolt swap (on a A4 4L60e) and when I swapped the rear to a T-56 car, it all swapped w/o issue.
