Default 3.73s or 4.10s for H/C A4

I need some good advice on what type of gears would be best suited for my setup. The car is a H/C LS2 shortblock. My current goal is to get the car into the 10s N/A and then hit it with a 150 shot. I'm running an SS4000 converter and built 60E and currently building a 8.8 rear for it. I bought 3.73s thinking it would be a decent increase from the 3.23s but I also want to step up to a 28" tire for when I start spraying the car. Will the tall tire kill my gearing a lot on motor? I trapped 121mph last year and was hoping to gain a few extra to hit 10s. The car does see a lot of street duty as well. Will stepping up to 4.10s make it a pain to daily if I choose to do so? I think either gear will give me enough mph to work with on the spray but I want good n/a performance as well. My other option is keep the 3.73s and run a 26" radial on motor and the 28" on spray. What do you guys think?

Shifting at 7k, was going 134mph with 4.10's, 28's and 4800 stall and 150 shot. I believe I could have gone 137mph based on other folk's results I've read about. Car at the time was going 123mph NA and needed a bit more converter or gear as I was running a big cam in a 348 ci.

I believe tuff went 14x mph with 4.10's and 28's, maybe 143? I have no idea what rpms he was buzzing.

gear calculator says it'll go 142 with 4.10s and 28" tire @ 7K but that doesn't account for converter slip. I don't think I'll need to much mph but the car currently weighs 3700lbs and will eventually be going on a diet. Cam is nothing real big so I can deal with a tighter converter as well.

Is it gonna suck driving around on street tires (probably 26") with the 4.10s?

with the 4l60 will they not shift into 4th in the 1/4? going by the rpm gear, and tire it looks like they are only using 3rd. not trying to hijack just trying to understand because I am also changing gear and have to pick between 390 and 411's

I say 4.10s and 28" tire. With that much power the 28 will workout good.

You're on the right track here.
