Default wiring question

im in the process of picking apart my harness. im sure i will have other questions but here is the first.

what is the box behind the rear driver side seat and can i delete all the wiring to it?

thats just where the wires pass through to the outside of the car for fuel pump and abs

^^^ Like they said, so if you are running an aftermarket pump and fuel cell and not using the abs system then yea you can get rid of the wiring and either leave the plug in place or weld in a cover.

so what are you guys doing with the ends of the wires that you are cutting off? im guessing just pull the fuses. can i simply cut everything back or remove it completely for anything not being used? also what is the flat connector in the rear on the drivers side? it has never been plugged in to anything. i was thinking that the harness is the same as that of a convertible and this harness was for the pump but i am not sure. thanks for the help it is appreciated.

The flat plug could be for the optional disc player.

yes, thats what the plug is for. our wiring harnesses are pretty much all the same whether you had the option or not

abs, fuel level, fuel pump (TCS I think, not sure)

ya, cd is the flat 2 row plug with the wires all taped up 100% with no loom.


that metal cover, is over the connector that gose under the car as said. Has 3 main connectors.
ABS wires, 3 or 4 channel.
Evap-, rear noild, and fuel presser.
Fuel pump, one wire is the fuel gauge.


driver side of the car, (up to the hatch- is dome light, defrost (heavy pur wire), 3rd brake light), to the rear- tail lights, hatch release, speakers.

passenger side, radio (lots of wiring stock) theft shock senor (BCM), antenna (?power) an. wire) speaker wires.

So you just chopping them off where they "t" into the harness and leaving them if you are not tracing them all the way out? How about the big harness that plugged into the abs block?
