Default BFG DRs can i hook or go back to ET Drags?

I'm itching to thow a pair of BFG's on the car to see if i can cut some low 1.5 60fts. on them and if so i think i can pick up some ET and mph over my ET Drags. What do you think or am i wasteing my time and just stay with my ET Drags. These will be 275x60x15 for my 4.10s and they have 10" contact patch.

i think it will take a different style of launching, because you wont be able to flash the convertor like you did on the drags. but 1.5 can be done with a good track. esp with a nice set of worn 275/60 as they are a true 28" drag radial. i dont know about pickup up any mph with the radials though. slicks always pick up mph for me as they grow on the big end.

I don't think you will hit low 1.5's with the drag radials.

On a good hooking track like Hallsville is 90% of the time you would be OK. I had to run on BFG's at the Thunder Shootout. When the track prep was good I pulled 1.55 & 1.56's, just like ET streets. When track prep went away I was pulling 1.8's.

It is my experience that slicks or something close to slicks generally give give the best sixty and ET. Your car as is seems to be running quite well for the setup you have. Is there any other items on car you can remove to assist in the sixty and ET? Cheers and good luck.

if you have your suspension setup right it is very possible, as you can see from my sig, i have done it, but that was just bolt-ons, but I dont think you should have a problem. Probably going to have to run the tires around 14 psi also.

Well this is an idea i have been kicking around since i have been told from a 8 sec. mustang guy one night at the track, that he says i pick up around a .1/1mph with BFG's over my ET Drags IF you can make it hook,so i thought about trying it. I have a friend that is going to loan me his BFG's in a few weeks for me to try out to see if there is a gain or not.

Kent, yes i can take off around 80 lbs from the car to help 60ft. more but then the car would be gutted...hmmm..i dunno i'll see but im not big on removing some of the stuff to get it in the 3290 range.

Lynda,my suspension should help since i have everything but adj. shocks.

I agree with camarocain on the adjustable shocks for adjustments at the track and find the sweet spot.
