Default I am about to notch the cowl for a carb hat, am I in the right spot?

Should I put the engine in and then do it??

Anyone got some GOOD pics?

Haha, shoulda measure before you pulled the motor.
I think you will have to cut more than that. If it were my car I'd set the motor in before I made the cuts.
Measure twice cut once right?

Well I hadnt planned on a throttlebody change when I pulled it, I found a post with a few pics.

I guess I will set it in there, cover it up and do the measuring.

Ya, I have my super vic, 4150 FAST TB. looking for a used EV carb hat. Ii;m going to run that. And make a airpan for it too, test both. And a 92mm wlison cast elbow to put my 92mm TB on...
I have a spare cowl trim to cut nice too.

Mine is the last 4 pics studderin posted, but no, I have not been to the track to test with the hat and without. But mine is afterall a street car.

how is the short turn on the Spectre 9841, it looks like a kink? anyone use the EV taller pro hat?

thats about the right spot to cut it out.......i gotta trim mine some more for my setup........carb'd 383 sbc

heres how i did my buddys....but on the back side i welded in a nice plate and matched the vent holes...

you can kinda see the plate thats smooth and purddy. thought it was going to turn out like **** buut it ended up being very nice

Mine in its previous life, I have more pics just not sure where. I will add them if I find them, I think that you will need to cut away more than you have marked out for the throttle linkage.

I cut mine as I marked it in the picture and it was perfect.
