Default Race Results 4-3-04

Well after getting rained out at Lone Star Raceway Sealy, Texas again. I went to HRP and ran in our 3rd points race.

I did ok. I lost in round #5. I red lighted with a .008. My 60ft went from a 1.49 to a 1.46. Just enough to put a red light on. I was very fired up about this round. I raced to points leader. Damn, I had him if I would have went green.

I had my chance to move up on the leader and messed it up. I will not let it happen again.

I am still in #2 in the track points. 3 rounds out of 1st. Looking forward to the April 24th at HRP(next points race).

My times were 11.16 to 11.24 @ 115. 60 fts were from 1.52 to 1.46. The little motor that could just runs it's a$$ off every wekend.

This coming weekend I will be racing at Lone Star. I will do my best to move from #2 in the points to #1.

Coach

Congrats Coach. You will be happy to know that you lost your title " Biggest Mess from Blown Motor" to your DAD sat. nite. He managed to oil down the track from the burnout box to the finishline.

115 MPH seems a bit low for ET.

'cuz he starts banging the rev limiter a hundred feet before the traps. Makes me cringe every time I hear it. 30" tires, 5.13 gears, and a 6900 rev limiter (because it's my old cam-only '98 motor in a well set up chassis ). Motor's stock except for cam, springs, pushrods, timing chain, and oil pump.

Congrats on more rounds, Coach! Wish you woulda taken him down, but ah well, there's next time.

Yea, I got the call at the track. Now it is time for us to build him a big block carb bracket motor. I have him talked into it.

I will call ya in the morning.

Thanks Dave.

Nine Finger 02 Z28,
Just what Andrew said. My Hot Rod is set up to run the number everytime. I just have the car geared to high for stock (B1 cam)a little motor. My new motor should be finished real soon.

Andrew,
Thanks man. The little motor that could ROCKS!

congrats Coach, bummer that you lit the red-eye again.

I lit the red bulb 1st and second round 006 and 008 for my 4th and 5th consecutive red light losses this year! Maybe next weekend I'll have better luck and focus.

I feel your pain Derek.

I need to control my emotions a little better in the later rounds.

We will give it another shot this coming weekend.

Good luck to ya brother.

Tell me about it. Red lighting is the worst, you instantly lose and its totally driver error.

Sounds like you had your car dialed in pretty good too.

Man they had the best track prep I've ever seen at this track, almost every launch was a beautiful wheelie and since the car was hooking consistantly it makes it easy to dial-in.

Here's all my runs from yesterday:

75* weather +1209 DA

1.387 60' 10.74 @ 123.35
1.392 60' 10.73 @ 123.66
1.410 60' 10.75 @ 123.40
1.408 60' 10.73 @ 123.37
1.379 60' 10.73 @ 123.05
1.378 60' 10.72 @ 123.18
1.378 60' 10.73 @ 122.90
1.374 60' 10.71 @ 123.54 ** Personal Best 60 Foot **
1.383 60' 10.73 @ 123.54

Consitant bitch isn't she? All day she ran +-2 hundreths off the dialin.

Plus I set a new personal best 60' on almost every run My previous best 60' was 1.390

I got some great racing videos I'll edit tonite and post em

Chris,
Yea man. My Dad blow up his 588 chevy blown injected motor Saturday night. It dropped a rod through the oil pan.

Lee,
Great times man. Sweet a$$ 60 fts. I hope to run those times and 60 fts when the new motor goes in.

Looks like you didn't have to dump it at the top end at all.

Great driving man.

Thanks man. Me too.

Now, I need to get on how to fix the motor. I think we are going to go with a more mild set up for him. We are going to build him a nice big block bracket motor.

DMcRacer,
Cool man. We have not had a chance to race there yet. We were going to make their 1st bracket race. $3,000.00 to win both classes but it got rained out.

Lee,
Dad has a Pro Mod type 1977 Chevelle. Funny car cage, great big wing on the back, 2 chutes. The list goes on and on. It could be a great bracket car. With him in it it weights 2,900LBS. He just wants to bracket race it now in Top Et.
