Unhappy I ran a 14.0 at the track whats wrong?

I went to WestTexas Raceway Test and Tune. I think that I should be running a Little better than 14.0 with my mods. I heated the hell out of my Nitto's and had a good launch, removed the spare and jack, cutout open. But still only pulled a 14.0. I know that I am a better than average driver but what is making me only run a 14.0?

What rpm are you launching. Do you have a stock clutch? If so, do you feel or smell it slipping. Is the SES light on?

are you speed shifting? try droping the air pressure in your tires. start w/ 20 and if that dont work drop it to 19, and so on. i wouldnt go below 16 or 17 but play with it a little. oh and speed shift. try one run with the cutout closed and see what the difference is.

come to think of it that could be it. the first time i went to the track i heated my tires real good and left the line at like 3000 rpm. well the result was a very bad clutch slip and i ran a 9.40 something at like 76 mph in the 1/8. i tried again and ran an 11 in the 1/8/ so after a trip to the dealership cause my car had like 5000 miles on it, i had a new clutch put in. now i dont heat my tires that much. i drop my air pressure and spin enough to clean them off . my times are in my sig.

I launched at 3000 rpms, powershifted and had 25 psi in the Nitto's. I just think that I should be running in the high 13's.

You definitely should be running in the 13's. Do you have a stock clutch? Do you smell or feel the clutch slipping?

I still have a stock clutch but it was not slipping. I was dumping the clutch at 3000rpm's and I also tried ridding the clutch off the line.

IMO I would say it's due to the clutch. Next time you go to the track try to launch it at 2000rpm's easing it off the line. If your time is the same or better its your clutch slipping.
