Default 11.58 on street tires

Ran at a great track (RT 66, Joliet, IL), just for the hell of it I ran on my street tires. These are 245/50/16 all season Generals and they are hard as a rock.

After a couple passes to see if I could hook at all I was suprised that I was cutting low 1.8s. Got a little more aggressive on the next couple passes.

11.801 @ 119.12 (1.88)
11.670 @ 119.25 (1.79)
11.609 @ 119.33 (1.74)

and the last pass
11.58 @ 119.36 (1.73)

Scale said the car weighed 3450#, haven't figured the DA yet. Is this a record or something? Has anyone gone faster on a 245 tire?

Damn, at GLD no less. I don't think I could do 1.70 there on a Nitto.

I heard he had one of thoes 502 crate motors after he told me he had a cam only LS1. I knew that stroke was lying.

Thanks for the compliments, I should have thrown the skinnies on, could have went 11.4.

That's the fastest cam only cam. That dude rolls 10.8s cam only and he has a bottle for fun.

PS - The guy is a nerd though. Total D&D bro.

Yes, I was just doing 1/8 mile passes, made about 3 of them. Then I ran one out to the 1000' mark, coasted to an 11.90 @ 98.

Well, they didn't say anything after that. So, I figured I would keep my foot in it untill they kicked me out, but they didn't.
