best launching RPM?
whats the best rpm to launch at? I have been sitting at just above idle to reduce wheelspin and usually fall behind but have no problem catching up in third ..but have any of you found the best RPM to launch with because I will be taking on an 03 cobra and want to give my best showing (at least not embarrass myself)
oh..I am still using the Eagle F1 tires the car came with (7,000 miles right now)

i have a4 and i can't go more then 1.5k-1.7k and not to spin, you have street tires, and if you dump your clutch at 4k you gonna spin like crazy...
just go somewhere and try what works for u better

there is no best RPM... it takes practice
It depends on your tire, your suspension, your car (auto or M6) if auto your converter... depends on the track prep (lots of VHT and good track or crappy track)
Try different RPMs and see what feels best

Re: best launching RPM?
You have to practice at the track and fine the sweet spot--the one that works best at the track. The sweet spot means you have the right air pressure and RPM launch. In all honestly, I believe you are hurting your ET with F1 tires--you would be better off with Nittos or a slick. You might want to consider a Cutoff on your exhaust if you don't have one. Also, reduce the weight of your car anyway you can for a faster ET. Good luck.
