I'll say the blower car will win by 2 tenths assuming that both cars have optimized shift points.

Jayson told me with that combo it should run low low 11's, maybe high 10's with some weight reduction, and I have heard ppl talking about how they cant get their FI car to run better than like mid-high 11's, I know tuning has alot to do with it, but I am limited to mail order tuning, b/ci dont know anything about tuninga a blower car

IMO you have to compare apples to apples.

If both cars were 3450 + 200 for driver = 3650 raceweight, and both were dyno tuned and running well I'd say that the blown car would be a bit faster. I'm not saying a lot.

how long would the blown car last on the stock pistons? Also are there any direct replacement pistons and rods for those who want forged pistons but not have to pay for a complete forged bottom end?

I believe that a few sponsors sell replacement piston/rod assemblies, perhaps try www.ls1motorsports.com or www.thunderracing.com.

Blown can can last a long time unless you get greedy.

I'd do valvesprings if I had a blown car.

Yeah, to compare the two you have to make sure that we're talking about equal raceweights, equal traction, equal density altiude, and proper gearing in both cases.

Having said that, the blower car wins.

I am looking at doing this

1. Vortech #9 blower
2. SLP LT's w/ORP
3. PY3600E
4. FLP or LS1 Speed Tranny
5. 3.73's
6. BMR SFC & LCA

In the future

forged pistons and rods and a 12 bold and maybe a 382 stroker

Sound Good?

well...id like to say that the blower car would win, but RARELY do you see any blown cars optimized or as light at a H/C car. and tuning REALLY is key. id go H/C.

If your looking for 400+ rwhhp & reliablity go h/c. The blower may make more peak power but I don't believe it makes as much on the low end and midrange as the h/c.
