Default Meziere Water Pump let's figure it out

As far as I know, three users on here have the Meziere water pump on their cars...

Jantzer
Terry Burger
Jay Johnson

I was told that the Meziere pump UNLESS specified, has no provision for the heater hose. Also what do you folks do for tensioners?

scott doesnt have a heater, but i think when he put it in he found a way to make it work. thats probably what terry did. unfortunately, both of them are no shows lately. email jay at jayjohnson@rocketmail.com (i think) and ask him about his. ive seen his car, its pretty stripped. it might be safe to say he isnt running the hose there. scott and jay said that meizere specified a tensioner.

no t-stat.

Meziere told me earlier this year that they could add an outlet for the heater. The pump is already threaded for it they said.

Also they said we could run inline thermostats.

If you don't run a t-stat will the car run in open loop forever?

Terry says his **** stays at 180 all the time. with an all aluminum motor, two fans, and the proper fan settings, i can see it happening. not in traffic, but everywhere else, yeah.

Both Jantzer and Burger run Dynabatt/Hawker little batteries too. I'm curious how the charge is with an UD pulley and an electric water pump.

That's a great point Mike.

I'm going to move this thread into dragracing since it's a dragracing mod.

PSJ, I've been running no thermostat for most of the past year. Works fine at the track (goes into closed loop just as quickly as normal it seems.) I have no idea how it would work on the street though.

Terry has pretty well established that the electric water pump makes a difference at the track. Does anybody have one installed with A/C? Removing the A/C is not an option in SoCal. That is unless you are building a dedicated race car, or you really like to sweat.

I'm still trying to figure out why the hell these companies haven't come out with streetable pumps for the majority of LS1 owners...they'd sell like hotcakes if they'd just MAKE them, instead of what they're doing now, which is giving us something that's race-only, a pain in the *** to get set up to run, and requires your first born as a sacrifice to use...
Or am I missing something <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />

I thought the point of a forum was to share information with fellow enthusiasts, not taunt them with it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

That's what I thought.

I guess I will just call Meziere today since Terry doesn't want to say.
