Default If you are using 15" Convo Pros Please Help?

I am going to be ordering my slicks as soon as I find out what 15" rims will fit my car. I heard that the convo pros and warriors will fit with out any grinding or spacers. What size or sizes fit without grinding? Also what kind and size tires are you using. Also did you have to screw them to the rim? Sorry for so many questions, but I am kind of in a hurry here. Thanks

Chad, I'm running 15x4 Convo Pro's on front w/165-15 metric radials. Rears are 15x7.5 w/5" backspace. No grinding. Rears do not stick out too far. I'm running 26-8.5x15 ET Drags. 12.82, 108.25, 1.92 sixty. 3.23's, stock converter, couple of bolt-ons. Yank SS 3800 converter coming next. Best wishes. Chad, Am not screwing tires to rims, and am running tubeless. Car is very stable on top end w/15 psi in slicks. Hope this helps. WJ.

I too am looking at the Convo Pros and I see that they have a 15 x 8.5 rear wheel available with 5.5 backspacing. This will help me be able to run a 10.5 inch slick right instead of the smaller 8.5. Also will these fit and not stick out too much?

Trever D has pics of his 15x4 & 15x7 Convo`s on his site. They look sweet and don`t stick out much at all. Does anyone have pics of Center Line Warriors on a 4th gen F body? I can`t believe some of the larger rim companies are not making light weight drag rims with specific clearencing/back spacing for our cars yet! (XP`s don`t count in my book and Bogarts are too high $ for me) I mean we can buy zillion HP turbo & nitrous kits all day long but we have to go through hell to find a set of race rims that we don`t have to use spacers on or grind our calipers down to 2mm to fit!!!

I agree w/02 Silver Z. Shame on these wheel companies. These 4th gen F-body cars need a 6&1/2-7" backspace wheel, to keep them tucked in under the whl opening. The Convo-Pro 8.5's stick out way too far w/a 10" plus wide tire. Maybe when our cars are 20 yrs. old, they'll start making affordable, lightweight race wheels for them! Having to gring the hell out of your calipers really makes sense, too. Maybe somebody at SEMA will see this and wake up these wheel guys... Well I am going to need the 10.5 inch slick soon and I don't want to have the tires sticking way out and look like a 4X4, so I guess the Convo Pros are out. I quess the Drag lite XP are about the only choice for now seeing that I e-,ailed Bogarts a week ago and they never returned the E-mail.

I agree with everyone else though this is ridiculous that we are limited to one or two different wheels to fit our cars.

Maybe if enough of us send a few emails to companies like Weld or Center Line pleeding our cases they will take notice. With all these fast 4th gen. F-bodys running around, there is bound to be a good size market for an affordable, light weight drag wheel! To me, Weld has the right idea with the XP line, but from what I`ve heard they aren`t much lighter than a stock 16x8. And isn`t weight 90% of the issue?

I'm running the Convo Pros. 15x4 in front with ET Front Runners (found that the metrics just didn't run 'true' at 115+ on nitrous); and 15x8 with 26x10x15 on the rear. They fit perfect under the fenders - of course I cheated, when I ordered by 12 bolt I narrowed the rear-end by 1 1/4" on each side .

Don't have a picture on my site. But I do have a picture of my old set-up - Convo pros, 15x10, with 26x11.5x15 ET Streets. Since this set-up was for the track only, who cares if they stick out a little? Many people told me that my old set-up look 'bad-***'. I really like my new set up.

I got the 15x8s on a 5 inch backspacing and am using a 275/50R15 BF drag radial but they stick out about 1/2 inch too far but dont rub anything.

Chad, I have the 15x8.5 ConvoPro on my car out back. They stick out slightly with Hooiser 9.5 QTPs, but it's not offensive. Look here.

Will the 15x7.5 convo pro allow you to run a 28x9x15 ET Drag inch slick without hitting the fenderwell? Will the rim stick out too far?
thanks,
Chris

Thanks for all the help. I ordered the 15 X 8.5 Warriors, since I could not find the Convo's in an 8.5" rim. I also ordered the 26 X 10 ET Drags. I know they will stick out a little but I don't mind since it is for track use only.

I know some people who have had to grind the calipers to fit the warriors. I do have the 15 x 8.5" Convo's with a 26 x 11.5 Hoosier QTP. Yes it does stick out slightly, face of the tire is flush with the furthest outside edge of the fender. I should have had my axle tubes narrowed on the 12 bolt to bring them in a bit. Oh well. I'm very happy with them.

The back spacing is 5", so they will stick out a little.
