What did you guys take out of the car? just doing some thinking and trying to get some ideas of how most people got there.

I would like to hit a raceweight around there, I drive my car on the street a lot, and I know that the bumper supports are taken out to get there..

I haven't weighed my car yet, but in the summer when its nice out I ride on slicks/skinnes all the time with weld rims, that drops close to 100 off the car...

Heres the other stuff I've taken out...

A/C, and all the other stuff that comes out with it...30 pounds
Spare/Jack...37 pounds I believe
Rear Seats/Cushions/Seatbelts....27 pounds
Front sway bar, mine was a 21mm, weighed close to 20lbs...

I plan on doing leightweight carpet from Speed Inc. K-members, A-arms...

I will weigh my car soon to see what its at...

I still have both bumpers, A/C, and both airbags and I've reached that (3300) raceweight. I suggest you look at colonel's weight reduction thread.

Ive removed the swaybar, passenger seats, rear speaker panels, amp, and spare tire and jack. I have a Hawker battery, no windshield washer fluid, 1/4 tank of gas. That with skinnies up front and draglites in the rear puts me at 3330# in a TA.

There really isn't much to it, especially if you have a stripper car, and if you yourself don't weigh much over 200 lbs. I have not removed anything out of my car that is saftey related, like bumpers supports and air bags. My list is simlar to 2000SILVERTA, except I don't have a light weight battery. Always run the car around 1/4 or a little less if you can, gas weighs A LOT. Seats in for daily driving, out of the car for the track. Sway bar was the first item that came off my car. And most of those people around 3300# are running drag wheels, which take off quite a bit of weight. Oh yeah and colonel's list is something you do want to check out. Hope this helps

I've removed sway bar, bumper supports, jack and spare. With heavy chrome zr1'(11" 315's in back) and zero, i mean zero gas..afraid I wouldn't make it home I weighed 3520#. With seats out, weld wheels and such I can get close to 3400. I still have all airbags, carpet, AC heater etc.

Check the weights on my two cars in the sig. The 98 is loaded up with everything except T tops and has alot of suspension stuff on it. The 2002 is a stripper car and has no "added weight" both cars had 1/4 tank of gas and only the spare tire and jack removed, those weights are with my 185 pound *** in them.

OK well then why the hell is my ride so heavy?? It's a 98 w/ the sport appearance package, ASR, leather, sub and amp, spare removed, rear seats and belt removed, 16" chrome 5 stars, 3/4 tank of gas, WITHOUT me in it weight 3440 on a certifed CAT scale... its a pig!!

I weighed mine at HRP shortly after I installed SFCs on it. It was 3550 with me (110lbs fully dressed with helmet) in it in full factory trim and a full tank of gas. The scale at HRP has been broken every single time i've gone to the track from thereafter. I think by removing the spare tire/jack, front sway bar, rear seat, a bunch of gas, and putting on some weld wheels I could get down to 3300# with me in it.
