Default Everybody's quite in Houston... What's up???

Tony how's your motor coming???

Raughhammer are you still missing gears with the Turbo 400???

Dabby Dub have you figured out how to tie a mattress under your car so you will keep from busting oil pans????

Colonel???? What about you??? All I've seen from you is thread moving and convertor post. Is the gang over at MTI still wearing flack jackets when they start the C5r motor up????

Come on everybody... I'm bored. <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Nothing wrong with it ... I just have this bad *** Yank 4L60E sitting here.... and I flat out cant shift this TH400 worth a dang.

That poking and hoping i dont hit the rev limiter aint worth a dime. I am trying to score a air shifter... but they aint cheap.

Plus my stock suspension wont hold the trans brake on hard launches.
So im going to give the "old faithful" a shot at one more time.

Thanks for asking... how is your ride doing?

Get a good shifter like a chetah and you dont have to worry about shifting through.

I thought that was the whole point about getting rid of the 4l60E. I'm going with a TH350 in mine and wasn't planning on have shifting problems any more.

Tell us what was up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

John..do you have a good tach in that thing or the stock one and a shift light? I have to run a good tach(5") even though I didnt' want to put one in my car. I like to know where the rpms truely are and I have to anticipate the shift. I find that if I just wait for the light I'm usually late. I'm sure I could adjust the light to come on early in place of my slow reflexes..hehehe. Just wondering if your still relying on the stock tach. My stock one compaired to my autometer is way slow.

John the Cheetah shifter in mine work great! Never missed a shift. Reverse manual valve body. Also the stock suspension would never hold my T brake either with my Th400. Good luck with everything.

I think John is saying he cant point and fire the turbo 400 like you can the 4l60e. The 4l60e shifts itself and the t-400 of course takes manual shifts. I know the feeling. If you cant hook consistantly on the brake, its hell trying to get the 1-2 right or consistant et's.

I have the simple stock shifter with no problems on shifting. Just bump it into the next gear.

Both of Raughammer's trannys shift just fine. He has just grown lazy in his old age and would rather "stab-n-steer" than have to use actual skill and time his shifts manually.

See how easy those A4 guys have it but hate to admit it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Joe, I took Friday off and started removing all of the accessories and bolt-ons from the engine in order to pull it out. All I left for MTI to do is pull the tranny and unbolt the motor mounts. Hopefully they will have time this week to remove it and tear it apart for an autopsy. Looking thru the hole in the side of the block, all of the rods/pistons are intact, but one rod is pretty bent. May have dropped a valve or something, and the bent rod probably hit the side of the block. Sounds fun, right?
