Will the fans still blow with no A/C?
For everyone who has removed their AC, will the fans still blow and circulate air in the car? Is it as warm as air outside constantly? TIA

Yes, they still blow air, but the air going by with the window open is better...and yes, its usually as hot as it is outside..

Okay, would you recommend this mod?
I was always curious why you had the A/C removed, but nothing else really....care to enlighten me?
Thanks man.

I did it to ditch weight, but the main reason I did it was because the condenser was no good...
Waiting to long to re-charge it after a cam install, I assume the seals went bad..
It shouldn't be that difficult to replace..

just like you said, its not hard at all. when i removed mine, i vented into atmisphere. just loosen one of the hoses and it will start coming out. once its done, just start removing stuff. you will see what to do when you are under there. nothing really technical. should only take about 30 minutes. and you dont have to remove the hoses going to the water pump. like you said, those are for your heater

Like the guys above said, it`s an easy job. Along with the weight savings, not having the condensor in front of the radiator helps with cooling and also makes more room for a big trans cooler for us guys with crazy high stall converters!

Okay, I've got it all done except for the hose running from the AC pump (??) to the radiator. Does it go to the condenser? Do I just jerk that and be done with it? Everything else is gone.

Re: Will the fans still blow with no A/C?
Okay, I looked under the hood to see everything that is involved in removing it. It doesn't look hard, I just don't know what all to remove. I'm sure no one has a write-up on this though. I know to remove the condenser, what about the hoses running to the radiator and water pump? I don't want to remove the heater core, though. Anyone have an Idiot's Guide to removing the A/C?

all the hoses bolt on. if its the lower hose, its kind of tight in there, but unbolt it and it should come right out.

What about the black thing in the back of the bay? Is that the dryer? Is it related to the heater core? Thanks!

Thanks, I ended up getting it all out last night. I was just sitting there looking at everything, then it hit me and I felt really stupid. Now that everything is out, you can kinda tell I actually have an engine in there . I really like the way it cleaned up under the hood.
Thanks for all the help.

the big black box is very hard to get out. you have to remove the enitre dash and take it out thru the inside of the car. very very PITA. then you have to cover up the huge hole in the firewall
i had fun doing it but i did end up breaking the box a little. o well. its nice having a clean looking engine bay but im sure i will miss the heat and cold air someday.
Good Luck!
