Any faster ls1s outside of ls1tech 1/4 list?
I'm curious to know if there are other ls1s out there that are as fast as the ones on the board that do not post? I see alot of non internet posting guys at the track but very few are contenders for the 1/4 mile list we have (bolt ons,cam only,heads/cam,stroker NA and power adders). Are there others that you know of that can take the top 5 of any divisons we have?

I'm sure there are alot of street racers who will not make their ETs available to anyone w/a computer.

Ditto! What Xfiveliter said. There are a few cars here in Houston, as well as across the country that could be at the top of the list, but they race for a nice amount of sea shells. Plus some people, even here on Ls1tech.com think many of those list are stupid. But the main reason is like the person above said..... Street racing.

Definately. The fastest LS1's on the street are not the ones you hear about on the internet. They are either street racers who do not want their info known, or older SBC builders that have used old techniques to build one helluva LS1 and don't know jack about the internet.

Atleast there are shops out there that can build the baddest SBC known to man, then turn around, hog out a set of LS1 heads and have them flow 10cfm more than stock. This has actually happened with 2 "reputable" shops around here who know old motors, but thought/think you can apply the same theories to LS1 stuff. *WRONG*.
So now two heads/cam LS1s run about as fast as they did stock.

i know there is a few stock eliminator cars that could make the top ten for sure. as a matter of fact, the record holder in stock elim is a firebird formula that ran a 9.97 n/a at pomona this year

There are quite a few really fast street race cars here in houston.
As for N/A I don't thing there's much cars that can beat the top 3 or so... but there are a few N/A cars in the low 10s.
and Nitrous cars in the mid 9s

How far south are we talking? To you Chi-town guys, Joliet is southern Illinois.
There's a couple LSx cars down here that are decently fast. You won't see many times from them though(maybe a 1200' pass). I know of an LT1 in the area that runs better N/A than some power adders cars too.

There are a few fast LS1 setups around Chicago that don't post on here.... There was a guy spraying a red Z up at GLD who is a friend of Z28Kid92 who went 10.9's...
An older guy with a SOM WS6 who has a Vortech who went flat 11.0's...
But those folks tend to be the exception and they are still buying parts from a place like Speed Inc. and are therefore getting the same advice we have on here...
