Best Street Racing Tire that'll also perform at strip.
What would be the best street racing tire for a 15x8 wheel. Im probably gonna get a second set of wheels and tires for the rear of my car soon. just for the weekends.
Thanks

from what ive heard/read, m/t radials have the best dry traction, but they wear out pretty quickly and are worse in the rain than other dr's. if its just for having fun on the street and not an everyday tire, m/t's are probably the best choice.

If you might see any wet weather.. go for Nitto's.

but... the M/T's have waay less tread than the bfg's so it would probably be wise to heed that remark.

Nitto drag radials are the best in rain compared to all other drag radials. BFG's are bad, and the new Mickey Thompsons are worse.
Bottom line is you have to be careful with all drag radials seeing the tread depth is where the problem is channeling rain water.

Any reason why you wouldn't use an ET Street of QTP? You'll get some flak about having a tire on the car, but everyone's gotta bitch about something...might as well be the shoes you're wearing.
Also, what is this "street racing" you speak of?

Well i can tell you that the new mickey does not like wet roads at all. I was coming home from the track and got caught in the rain, with 4 people in the car. We were doing about 50 mph in a 65 when all of a sudden ,for no reason at all the car broke dead sideways and my lights were shining on the van beside me!. The van went off in the grass and was all over the road and got it back under control. I had my wife and the wives of 2 friends of mine with me. They were in front of us, on nittos and had no problems. We talked to the people in the van... they stopped at the same store to catch our breath. They stopped to get some beer, it shook them up pretty good. So do not ride them in the rain!!!
