Default My car is a PIG! 3500 lbs. with me in it.

I can't believe my car is still that heavy. I've got the seats out, no ac, swaybar etc. Guess I'm getting some extra weight from the iron block, nitrous stuff, 12 bolt, roll bar etc.
I'm going to be taking out alot of stuff soon, how low can I realistically expect to take a Trans Am down to? Busted my budget for the year already so I'm looking at free/ low $$ mods right now.
My set up: '98 TA, iron block 408, th350, moser 12 bolt, DP NOS.
and I'm 200 lbs. Maybe I can teach my daughter to drive it, she's only 22 lbs .

I feel the pain Mark. I was 3640 when I went 9.40.

So you are 140lbs lighter so technically you should go around 9.30ish, right!

I've got a bunch of stuff to pull out, still have bumper/door supports, passenger airbag etc.
Mike, I'd love 9.30's ,it's only jetted for a 225 shot right now, maybe with an extra 100hp.
Last night I went 11.25@ 121mph N/A with a 1.71 60ft. (bad launch)
The car's set up for nitrous with 28" tires and 3:42's. Still working on suspension set up.
At Atco the car went 11.05 @122, at nearly 3600 lbs. with a 1.56 60 ft.
No nitrous runs yet, 1 attempt though and I have the broken driveshaft to prove it

Damn that light in my book..... mine is still a street/race car and with my old setup Iron block,A4, and SC and my back seats out, but my stereo and jack in it weighed 3940 w/ me in it (215lbs) and ran mid 11's @127....... Should be a little lighter this yr with the new turbo setup/K-member/A-arms and slicks and skinnnies.... im shooting for a 3650 race weight damn pig.......

3560 here without me in it, I have swapped rims from aftermarket z06 rims to real ones which saved about 15lbs a wheel, plus I dropped my cruise control, front sway, misc brackets so I have saved about 80lbs since I last weighed, hit 121 mph so far on street tires with a 3780 raceweight NA, should be hitting the track here shortly with some slicks.

When I was a 422ci iron block/ A4/ 6 pt cage/ 9", I went 11.02@123mph on a 1.50 @ 3600 raceweight.

Right now I am a 348ci alum block, and have done other weight reduction. Might still be like 3475 but I hope to hit 3400 this summer.

I'm not sure, I think it's about 60lbs or so heavier. I have a th350 trans and that's supposed to lighter than the 4l60e but then I have that 12 bolt which is heavier than the 10 bolt.

No sympathy here. My race weight including my fat *** is right at 4000 pounds. Nothing has been removed from the car but an iron block, 6 point cage, a bunch of other add ons, and me, at 240 pounds, gets the weight up there. It still runs 6.7s, which would be well into the tens, and I drive it every day.

Well I just pulled my dash and removed airbag, heater box assembly etc.. so I should be a little lighter now.
