If you motor is not getting into detonation you probably don't the extra octane. Then you should be fine. Now if you are using nitrous or a blower then you may need it. I run 114 leaded fuel in my 1980 but I have a good bit of compression and nitrous. Also if you do run it you may want to get some unleaded race gas.

On a stock short block with stock compression, I would not use any higher than 94 octane. Mix what ever fuel you want to achieve this goal. Heck, I mix a 50/50 blend of 100 with 87 for a 94 octane level on both my cars. Sometime higher on the Z28 race car.

Have you had the car tuned with you mods? Your MPH sounds really low. My friends '98 with my old TR224 and Mac's runs mid-low 12's at over 112 mph. And thats in a 6 spd.
I wouldn't F with the HPP3 since you don't know what it's going to do. You may be too lean or have too much timing causing KR.
