Default Need help installing Grant quick disconnect/steering wheel.

In the pic below is how far I've gotten. The part hanging I took out which was held by a c-clip and I'm not sure if ti needs to go or not, but from the looks of it, it does. If so, what do I do about the wires? One is for the airbag and one is for the radio controls. Then once I get that figured out, what do I do from there? Thanks.

Anyone? Just need to know what I do about the part thats hanging. Is it gonna stay or go? I think it has something to do with the airbag, but not sure. The wires I assume cut because it doesnt seem like they want to unplug.

You dont need it. I just cut the wires and pulled it out. I even sold that piece and the guy that bought it just spliced it back together.

Cool, I'll just cut them. About the quick disconnect...I was messin with it last night trying to figure out how it works. Correct me if Im wrong, but when I disconnct it, the only thing that is going to remain on the column is the splines right? The white tube on the upper left of the splines, is there any need to mess with that? Also, it came with a nut, do I use that one or reuse the one that came off? Lastly, does the quick release spline go directly on the column spline or does it need to have washers on it to space it out? Thanks.

C'mon, I know a lot of you have aftermarket steering wheels and could pitch in some help. Either one of the nuts will work, so its up to me. But I dont want to tighten it down just yet until I know what to do with the splines. Do I need to cut that white tube sticking out towards the top left? I dont even have the splines tightened down yet and its already touching that white tube. Lastly, on those wires, do they unplug anywhere in the column or do I just cut them right where they stick out? Is it going to cause any electrical issues? Thanks.

Well I ended up cutting the wires, but instead of cutting them by the steering wheel I cut them at the bottom of the column where the plug into. I cut them close to the connectors. I then pulled the wires out through the wheel side of the column. Now the quick disconnect is mounted to the wheel and is ready to go on. The only thing left that I need to know is what do I do about the white tube in the pic? It looks like it either needs to be cut or pulled out because the splines for the quick disconnect are already touching it and I havent even tightened it down yet. What do I do about it? I remember reading about needing to space using washer, but I believe that was on the regular install kit and not the quick disconnect, do I need to use spacers? Help me out guys.

Did you have to do any spacing or did you simply just put the nut on it and tighten her down? The instructions say 5 ft. lbs. is that enough or should I go more?
