Default Do I need bigger tires?

I ran a 12.3 with mods in sig minus the gears on 26" ET Streets. And a 12.5 with the gears. I was crossing the traps at the top of 3rd gear. And now I have to shift into 4th right before the traps. Should I get bigger tires. What else can I do? I am trying to get into the 11's without nitrous or FI.

Thanks

i'd first just try short shifting the 3-4 a little bit. the problem you're having is that you are grabbing 4th gear barely before the finish, its fine to be in 4th but you wanna grab it a little ways before the traps so you are back up in the power band when you cross the traps..

My limiter is set at 6800 and thats what I shift at. What rpm should I shift into 4th at from 3rd? Not sure what my 60ft times were. The track I went to didn't have that info. I'll be going to a different track next weekend though. I have a cut-out sitting in my garage, should I install it? Will it help me out a little? What psi should my tires be at? I was spinning of the line launching at 3k rpm(15psi). Will taking the front sway bar help with traction? All I have as far as suspension mods are lca's and a phr.

Thanks

If you were launching at 3000, that's a big part of the problem, and if you are spinning launching at 3000, that's an even bigger problem... 15 psi is too much, as I found out last week myself... Drop the tires to 13 to 12 psi cold and try that. if you are looking for 11's at full weight with your power... you are gonna have to launch that car alot harder then you are.... 5000 would be a good place to start, I know next time I go, that's what I'm gonna try, 12 psi and 5000rpm, see what it gets me.

Oh yeah, pull that front sway bar and all the mounts off too, it's about 14 lbs, and will halp the car transfer weight better. I know last year I gained about .2 from doing so.... never put it back on after that.

Hey ever i would just try a little VHT.
traction is the Key by what I saw a couple weeks ago. Maybe Its just getting used to the shifting. I have heard it takes a few tries when going to 4.10's in a T-56

I know I don't have the power in my car to know enough about what's needed but you have seen My take offs and to pull off a couple 12.9's with stock motor at that track is not bad. One thing is for sure that I cannot drop the pressure below 16psi or even go above it that's of course on a 26x9 hoosier D05

Hell, I had to shift into 5th before I put 28" tall tires on mine. I cross now at around 6250 in 4th
