Default Anyone run 12.5x28x15 ET steets on a t/a?

I dont know what to do for rear tires, I really dont want to hack up the body for 10.5x28 slicks right now and would really like DOT tires. I was going to try 11.5x27 QTPs but I read here they really dont hook much better then the 11.5x28 ET streets I have on here. I have been having surprising luck hooking with the 11.5x28 ET street but these are really made for 8" wheels (I have 9.75 Bogarts) and just dont look right, I think the 11.5 QTPs would look better being over an inch wider at the tread but hate to switch if they hook close the same.

The 12.5x28 ET streets are a little wider but they are listed a little over 28" diameter so I dont know if they will go on a t/a without cutting. Wonder how a 9x28x15 ET drag would fit on a 9.75" wheel?

And no I dont want a M/T radial

I have heard that the Hoosier QTP hooks better than the ET streets.
I also like the idea of the DOT tires. I drive from home to the track then pack home on my QTP’s.
I am using the Hoosier 26 x 11.5 x 15 QTP on Bogarts wheels with 4.11 and M6.
I am still working on the suspension and hoping for mid 1.5 to high 1.5 sixties.
I am thinking of switching to the Hoosier 28 x 11.5 x 15 QTP’s and a 4.56 gear.
I have heard good thinks about the Hoosier 27 x 11.5 x 15 QTP’s and not much about the 28 QTP’s but think they could only be better than the 26 and 27 QTP’s

I may try the 11.5x27 QTP, I cant see them being worst then these 11.5x28 ET (27.6 actual height) streets that are only 8.6" wide. At least the QTPs are 10" wide at the tread. The 11.5x28 QTP has less section width then a 12.5x28 ET street though so I may try those also.

I had a pair of 11.5x28x15 QTPs I gave away a little while back

28x10 ET drag would be a good choice and probably net you a better result due to the compound and constuction...it is strickly a drag tire, hoosier 28x11.5 qtp's as mentioned are also a good choice...they are DOT legal.

Did you ever try the 28 x 11.5 x 15 QTP's?

I have'nt heard of anyone running them, but would think they would be the next best after a 28 x10 ET Drag.

My last car had 11.5x28x15 QTPs on it when I bought it but I never ran them. The previous owner went 9.90 with them though, I replaced them with ET drags as soon as I got the car. Probably should have tried them but I gave them away a while back

Kev, Bos on here had 28X12.5X15 et streets on his blue firehawk he sold, i'd ask him.

as for putting a 9" wide et drag, i dunno, tough call. they fit real nice on an 8" wide rim, never seen em on a 9.75 or 10". the 28X9 et drag is also not a true 28" tire FYI, believe it comes out to around 27.5. ask Magnus for exact, he ran them last year I believe.

i know TA's are diff but my 28X10.5's fit on my car without doing anything to the bumper or the front area, they barely make it but they do. had to roll the fender lip a bit cuz the car is low in the back and of course do all the fun stuff inside to get them not to hit the bumpstop area or anything.

10.5 ET drags wont fit on here without some hacking, test fit a set a while back.

I prefer to stay DOT, I went 1.39 60's with 28X9 ET drags so I know they work but I think they will look just as funny as these 11.5x28 ET streets on 10" wheels. I think I'll roll the dice and try some 11.5x28 QTPs.
