Cool New drag wheel setup Pics (~56k)

Finally got them. Bogarts on rear 15 x 9.75 (Welded R/T's) with Hoosier QTP's 27x 11.5 x 15 Weld 15 x 3.5 AlumaStar with Mickey 26" sportsman fronts. No fittment problems on rear at all, just bolted on. (I do need to install the longer studs I have had laying around though.) It does look like I will need to at least trim the bumpstops for when the rear suspension drops out. Fronts I had to grind the calipers a bit, and am running a 1/4" spacer. I am real happy with overall look.

Sweet, I was just going to ask for some bolt on Aluma Star pics today. They look absolutly great in the front. Did you try the with center caps to see how they looked that way? I think I'm goint to switch to them when I get my Aerospace front brakes.

BTW: are those on a 1.75" BS. They tuck pretty nice, even with spacers.

I'm going with the same combo on my '68......looks AWESOME! Can't beat the Weld up front and the Bogarts are a better looking wheel in the rear.

those alumastars don't work with factory brakes, or do they? i thought you had to have a spindle mount setup for those things..

how much do those Bogart Welded R/T's run about, let's say a 15x10 and a 15x3.5. I heard they're kind of expensive but i haven't seen it for myself.

Arrow

Thanks for the compliments !

GM Muscle:

They are the 2.25" B.S. - again, using a .25" spacer. I could grind more to run without, but I thought it tucked fine the way it is. Do some reasearch with what front tire you plan to run. It will make a difference. Another guy I talked to at the track put some Goodyear front runners on the front, and they bulge out quite a bit more than the Sportsman's do. They did not come with centercaps.... Maybe they should have ? I know spindle mounts would not need them.

SilverGhost:

They make a bolt on version. As of last fall I believe. I am running stock calipers (grinded) and Eradi-speed rotors. (stock size)

Maybe I'll try the 1.75" BS. I'll sacrafice alittle tuck for a bigger lip. I was planning on running my generic 165 radials. From what I've seen the Sportsmans bulge alittle more than mine (on a prostar anyway). If they bulge to much I can always switch.

I'm pretty sure that on Weld's website I saw that they sell center caps seperatly for the bolt on version. They probrably are just the regular ones they use for prostars and draglites. Might end up changing the whole look of the wheel though.

J98TA - I was parked next to u 2 weeks ago at Rock falls on a funday. I had a NBM 99 Z28. Sorry I never said anything, but was my first time at the track and I was dissapointed in my car all day. Believe me, those wheels in front are the best looking but aren't they like $230 a wheel!! Also, I have a few of ur runs on vid if u want to see them posted, let me know.

Yes ! Please e-mail them to me, or ? jman812@hotmail.com I had a set of et street radials which worked good until eliminations. I did make it to the semi's in King of the Hill though.

Don't get too bothered by your times. You went to a track known for bad traction on a real hot day. The car sounded nice. If I saw the right pass, you went 12.4x at ~114 ? I think my best pass that day was 12.17, this is .37 away from my best, and 4 mph. Get out to Cedar Falls or Tri-State in the fall, you should run real well there. Also, it looked as though you drove the car well considering the conditions. I have seen many with less power at that track do horrible with a 6 speed. If you ever see me out there again, be sure to say hello. I should be out there in 2 weeks 'muscle car day'. Otherwise at CF for the Summit series.

None. Stock rear housing. The rear wheels are custom made for 4th gens. 15 x 9.75 w/ 7.125" B.S.

1.901 60 Ft.
1/8 - 7.965 at 91.02 mph
1/4 - 12.239 at 115 mph

This was my best run. Still on 10 bolt so I was GENTLE off the line. Either way, still kinda disapointed. I know it has 11.99 or better in it on the nittos's, but this was my first pass ever at a track period, and that 10 bolt was in the back of my head the whole time.

As was mentioned, track prep sucks and the weather sucked. Just bought 275/60/15 MT drags. U didn't like ur MT drags J 98TA? Also, what did u pay for the front wheels. I swear I saw them for like $230 a wheel, maybe not.

gator's 99TA:

The Bigger tires I believe hurt me a tad b/c of 3.23's I still have. It was ~95deg and high humidity this past weekend though. 3.73's will be in soon. I hooked solid every pass though.

jj_z28:

Thanks for the video. I did like the Et street radials. They were just temporary until my Bogarts showed up. I will use them as a spare now. The fronts I paid ~360....

joebob450r: Thanks !
