Default Rollcages

When do you need a roll cage, and what are the times for how many points you need?

Minimum 5-point roll bar required from 11.49 to 10.00 for a coupe or hardtop car. From 9.99 to 8.50 you need a basic roll cage. That is not a point requirment, there is a design and minimum tubing sizes that must be followed. From 8.49 to 7.50 you must be SFI 25.5 legal.

Last year's requirements for NHRA were 13.99/11.99 for conv/hardtop, and they changed this year to the requirements listed in Wolfe's post. IHRA I believe is 11.99 for hardtops and 13.99 for convertibles, but last year they had the 11.49/13.49 limits, so check out www.ihra.com for that info if your track is IHRA-run.

Check out these 2 links for NHRA rule info:

Just so you guys know roll cages and roll bars are two different things. Just look at Wolfe's post he is the roll cage/bar guy.
T top cars are considered coupes.
