Question Billingsley/AC delete plate and heat?

Anyone know if you still retain heat when you delete the AC?

couldn't you build your own with a stock heater core and just put a small fan like for a tranny cooler on it?

Thanks, that looks great! Is that the factory box cut down or a completely new one "fabbed up"? What material did you use to modify it?

I removed the box from the car and cut away the factory box then made a template out of some thin metal and made it 1/4 longer and folded the edges over and screwed it and sealed it up .....I might take it later in the year and try remodifying it as to take away more weight and only keep the defrost only saw a pic on hear before.....if you want I can email you some pics tommorrow as they are on my other comp at work.

Im in the process of taking out all of the vents and such for the heat and air. This is basicly what i am down to. I got this pic from one of the above links.

How exactly does the blower speed resistor coil do? Is it possible to get rid of it and still keep the heat?

I guess what I want to say is there any way you can wire the blower motor, so that it is eather on or off, not variable speeds, and still use the factory ****. I want to keep my heat , but I dont want that red hot blower speed resistor coil setting out in the open.

What these guys are talking about is removing as much of the unit from under the hood as possible. More room in the engine compartment and a nice clean look. Oh and weight savings...

You can. Each of those coils match a speed that is less than the high speed setting. If you just bypass all that, the blower will run on high.

That's my pic. I'm not too keen on the coils hanging out either. I'm probably going to relocate them inside the housing.
