Hoosier QTP install question
Just got my QTP's in yesterday afternoon . On the tire it states to use a tube but their website states this:
I plan on bead locking these but do have some tubes I can throw in them. Other than possible air leak issues, any pro/cons to running these tubeless?
6. Should I use "tubes" in slicks and DOT drag tires?
ANSWER: The decision to run tubes is ultimately up to the racer. Hoosier drag tires are capable of safely running without tubes. The Quick Time DOT tires should be run with a tube when the tire is run on the street, but they can be run without tubes at the track. Race tires are inherently susceptible to air leakage due to being built of very light gauge material needed to perform in various racing applications. A decision to use a tube should be based on your application and needs.

a friend of mine runs his tubeless. he pulled a 1.54 60 with a stock ls1 stall and gears.
i dont really know if it is safe or not, those tires seeem to have a pretty thin sidewall.
his leaks air a little bit , has to top them off about once a week.
