Default Rear Drag brakes...?

What drag brake setups are you guys running? I am getting a moser 9" very soon and want to go ahead with a new rear brake setup. That means I can forget about having stock backing plates pressed on right?

What part #'s from Aerospace and Strange bolt up to a moser 9" housing?

Ok so I called Moser and they said that their housings come with a flush mount housing end for the stock backing plates. They can weld on whatever housing ends you want when you order from them supposedly.... does that sound right?

I have a Wilwood rear drag setup and I feel it is a high quality kit.
Unfortunately I have yet to install it but it looks great sitting in my shop.

No matter what housing ends you decide on, most of the big names like strange, wilwood, aerospace will have a kit that will fit the bolt pattern on the housing ends.

If you are not in a rush you might be able to find a slightly used kit on ebay or racing junk.com.

Good Luck

They are Moroso 5/8 studs. Will only work if you have aftermarket axles. As for cost, i have a pile of invoices that i have paid, i dont want to know how much i spend.. its better that way

Did you powdercoat the housing?

You can get strange 5/8 studs from billingsley racing. I got some after twisting my 1/2 studs on the drivers side. It ended up costing me about $175 for the studs and having the axles machined for the new studs.

with a turbo car and an automatic transmission, when you are staging the car you use the foot break to get the car up on boost and you drag the breaks and creep into the beams, then hit the trans break once your fully staged. Single's tend not to be able to hold most cars when the boost comes up and you end up pushing through the lights, keep in mind you are dealing with ALOT of HP and alot of TQ when the boost comes up. Dual's help hold the car from creeping. Some 10.5 cars run duals on the rear and the front.
