Default Pics of my Aerospace lightweight Brake conversion

Turned out pretty nice. I have heard many people say good things about the Aerospace kit and heard a few bad things. I thought I would give it a try and see for myself. Took me a couple of hours for the install. I must say I like it.

Thanks!!

Correct me if I am wrong but it takes around 50 lbs of the front of the car. I never compared on a scale but holding both one after the other was a huge difference.

I was thinking about 30 something for just the rotors and calipers unless your counting something else?

Is this the street or race kit? I'm pretty sure the strange kit is around 50lbs lighter and the aerospace race kit was 35-40 and the street kit is 30-35.

tony, could you post a pic of where you grinded on the ear?

also this setup doesnt come with a dust cap? hate that rusty (though you painted) oem part showing with that pretty brake setup. i am going with the same setup. from what i hear its a 30 lbs difference. the strange is 50 lb less due to the aftermarket spindle area.

I will try to get a pic for you. The center cap also covers that up so you cant see the stock hub.

The center cap is in the pic with the wheel I posted.

Here is a pic of the ears you have to grind off and smooth down the knuckle.

I have those Tony and am happy for the most part. Make sure you check the bolts that hold the calipers together. Mine lossened up and allowed all the brake fluid to push out between the halves. Luckily it happened as I was setting the line lock for the burnout rather than at the other end as the pedal dropped right to the floor. Other than that, I like mine.

awesome pics. appreciate it. helpfull to many here.

what i was meaning is the small dust covers that come with many drag brakes - maybe strange brakes have them. i didnt mean the centercaps on the wheels.

Strange brakes come with new hubs/bearings, aerospace uses stock. Stock has a sealed hub type bearing so it has no dust cover
