Swingouts on roll bar and cage installations that are installed per the instructions in the NHRA rulebook are permitted. All hinges and latches must be installed in a "double shear" configuration.

Here's my swing-out bar, it's passed the last 2 certifications for 7.50. With the new rules it'll only pass to 8.50 the next time. The NHRA guy that certified it said it was one of the best constructed swing-outs he'd seen.

As posted above, if you follow the letter of the rules for NHRA/IHRA, swing-outs are legal if done correctly!

Competition engineering makes a NICE swing out kit that is legal to 7.50(not sure if this is now 8.50 with the new rules though)

I just bought them to install on my Stenod Cage, and they look to be a great quality setup. It definately beats the price compared to Wolfe's also...

Only good to 8.50. 7.50 is a 25.5 or higher spec and it requires the door bars to be X'd with no swingouts.
