Default Fiberglass Hood vs Stock - Weight
I was looking through the weight reduction sticky and saw the hood was listed as 30lb weight saving.

How much does a stock Z28 or SS hood weigh, and how much do the aftermarket fiberglass hoods weigh. Are they all the brands of fiberglass hood the same weight?

I switched from a stock ss hood-apx 50lbs to a vfn ss hood apx 25lbs

Stock hoods are 47-50 lbs. The SS hood is heavy because it's high quality.

not meaning to steal the forum but what about a regular trans am hood not ram air hood weigh? bc vfn has 1 that weighs 16lbs

How much does a stock steel 98-02 Firebird hood weigh... I just got an aftermarket bolt on WS6 style hood that weighs 25lbs...

i believe it was 52lbs with hindges, latch and shocks, my pin on was like 14lbs

It's probably 45-50 lbs for a stock TA, Formula or WS6 hood.

My VFN WS6 hood is 25 lbs.
