4.33 or 4.56 w/TH400 N/A!!!
347 ci forged -2 cc,T-rex,pp stage II, 12:1 comp, Fast 90/90, 1 3/4 headers ORY,TH400 with ATI 5500 stall w/o tb,12 bolts ,28*10.5*15....and about 3100-3200 lb......(race only car)
i did a calc. in this link:
http://www.nationaldrivetrain.com/calcs/dragcalc.html
and it says that i should go with 4.74 !!!......i'll rev. it to 7k....
i read that there is about 20% diff. in the RPM...due to TC slipping....is that true???...(the diff will be 1200-1400 RPM)!!!
hope to run 10's N/A
help a guy...

i run a very similar set up.... except its stock short and 853 heads.
i run the same converter as you and it is very efficent and has very little slip... right at 3% or so. with the 430 and 28 i go through the traps at 6600 or so and thats at 124 mph. give or take 1mph

I am runnign a converter that should be about 5000, 4.10 gears and a 27x11.5 hoosier QTP.. should have it all together in the next couple weeks as it goes under the knife this weekend, I'll have reaults soon... although my setup is alot different, a good bit bigger CI, a cam that's a little bigger then a trex, and a heavy car, probably about 3600 with me in it Hopefully it will see 10's na on pump gas.. at least that's the goal.
Will know in a few weeks.

Those calculators work pretty good, but for an auto you need to factor in slippage. I run a simular setup T-Rex, 4.30's, 4800 stall, 28" slick, and 3200 race weight now. With 4.30's and a 28" tall tire in third gear you can trap around 125-126 right at the rev limiter of 7000 rpm. If you are planning to mph any higher you need to change something (taller tire or less gear).
With that being said. A 28" tire and 4.56's aren't going to work for you. If you are set on running a 28" tire you may have to do what I'm doing right now and go down a gear to 4.10's.

I have a 4l60e lockup Yank PT-4800. That's probably the reason because if I remember correctly someone told me the 4l60e isn't as efficient as a th350 or th400.
On the dyno my car goes from 380 rwhp unlocked to 425.7 rwhp locked.

FANTAZ28... with 4.30 and 28 u went 123-124 mph.....at 6550-6600.....
so,i think 4.56 with 28 and 5500 will work great if i rev it to 7000-7200.....
