Stay with a 26" or go to a 28" tire
Well trying to decide on what to buy for tires for next season.
Gm Hot Cam
SLP LT's/Cutout
Dualstage 250 shot
TH400 RMVB
PTC Nitrous Converter 3000/NA,3500/No2 1st,4500No2 2nd
Second stage will be activated in 2nd gear 125-150 and 125 out of the whole
3.42 gears
6500 sp,6800 Rev limiter
Should i go with a 28 or stay 26's
I think i should be in the 10's around 130ish
Car previously with a M6 first stage went 11.6@122 1.9'
Thanx BTLFEDSS

28's seem too big for your gear. I think it will fall on it's face. My experience is only with the M6 though. Even still those tires and that gear are going to kill your hole shot and bring your RPMs through the traps way down. I would do the 28's with a 3.90 gear. That would be pretty ideal for your set-up.

I would like to know a few thoughts on this as well, I runt he 1/8th
1.6 60"
7.5 at 94-95 mph. with a et street 10.5, 26'
thinking about going to a MT drag radial 325/50/15 thats a 28" tire
what will happen to my times? or what do you think will happen, no spray rite now just motor. and 4.11 gear with a two step at 6000rpms. M6 car little over 400rwhp.

That is too much tire for that gear and power level with M6. Sometimes with slicks you can go bigger since they wrincle, but those tires do not wrinkle much at all so you have a poor final ratio off the line and through the traps. You are better off with a 26" tire or a 4.30 gear with the 28s. I run the 4.56 with the 28s. That for my car is idea. But I usually drive on 26" tires so I may go down to a 4.30.

So if I have 4.10s, all bolt ons, TRex, 4000 and 5000 stall with TB and alot of weight reduction, you think the 28" 325/50 MT DRs will be too much tire? I plan on doing a 12 bolt soon, so when I do that do you think I should go with more gear for the 325s?
