why is my car doing this-video......
that was only a 1.69 60 ft. the other one was a 1.70. dont pay attention to the missed gear--the tranny actually let go on that pass. the rear shocks were set at 5-fronts at 3- and et drags at 16 psi. launched off the 2 step at 6k. seems to me that it should carry out further and not go so high. is my car just not making enough power or is something else going on?

Your car is bogging bad.
Looks like the car needs more gear to me, or you can up your launch rpm. I used to lauch mine at 6800 when i had a M6.
More details on the setup, tire size/gear, max rpm.

i shift at 6800, 26x 10.0 et drag, 4.11 gear in a dana 60. anymore gear and ill need more tire to get thru the traps. car on average will trap in the mid 1 teens. i have a mcleod clutch w/ aluminum flywheel but have thought about trading to a steel flywheel while the tranny is out get rebuildt.

You are correct, the aluminum flywheel is for : a 2300 lb car or a roadrace car, thats it.
Put the stock flywheel back it and HOLD ON.
PS better pop for a good driveshaft.
