Default 10.99 on radials in full weight m6 car, possible?

just wondering what it would take, id love to get the new camaro to run 10.99 on the 315 radial tires, not a drag radial, just heads/cam. anybody done it? i can halfway drive a 6speed and anything better than a 1.9 60' with that kinda power will be tuff to regulate, my concern is can i get it to hook up or will i be skating sidways halfway down the track

slipping of the clutch like a ****! i think it will take a 1.8 60' or better and controling that tq and gear is tough.

why not do it with a drag radial?

With a 295 35 18 Toyo T1R, in my WS6 M6, I ran a 11.973@119.888 1.97 60’ with 455rw. (white car in sig) Same tire on a 02 383 Z06, I only managed a 12.1 or so, I don't remember the mph. The tire held on the sihifts though.
In my opinion, the T1R is very impressive. FWIW

Good luck in your quest!

Sure, but you'll need to make 450rwhp to hit 10's in a fullweight new Camaro. Personally I think drag radials would be the way to go, to keep the engine combo streetable.

I don't think that it is gonna happen. You will need to make max power that has been seen with any heads/cam combo. And even then...having a full weight car, and no traction....my opinion is it won't happen just h/c.

I wouldn't even try on street tires. It's possible though. Drag radials would be easier and safer, IMHO.

Well it's arbitrary if you say 315 radials, that is your choice at the moment. If the new 'camaro comes out and say has 18's in the rear stock, then some folks will want to see how far folks can go on stock tires. If the stockers are say F1's, I would say they will have problems.

Alot will depend on how good the suspension on the car hooks, and how much it really weigh's when they are released. If the car ends up being on the lighter side of things, then your chances are better... but if it comes in at about 3900 like I suspect it will with irs and whatnot... then you've got your work cut out for you, so much so that I suspect that with h/c and even a drag radial, it's not gonna be easy.

Assuming what the new camaro will (presumably weigh) and taking into account Ranger's Z06 times, I don't think it is very likely.

the new z06 hasn't done it and they are a good bit lighter than you are. ONE has done it on drag radials the rest of the car being stock. they make 450+ rwhp and what...300-400 lbs lighter than that SS. its gonna take alot.

I will give my .02 again.....not gonna happen.

There is no way a full weight LS1 car...much less the new tank that is coming out is going to go in the 10's with h/c work on street tire......PERIOD!

It takes 475-525 rwhp for a stock weight car to do it with sticky tires...how are you supposed to do it with shitty street tires...stock cubes....and just h/c.

It does not matter how the suspension is set up....the tire can not hold any kind of power from a launch. What is the best you could fathom with a street tire...maybe if the stars align....a 1.8 60ft????

I don't see it happening in my lifetime

I'm guessing if the new Camaro has an LS2 or something like that, that it will run like an LS2 GTO... Just my feelings based on the probable weight + IRS.

Is he really refering to the new camaro that will be coming out??? Cause he said new camaro....and has anyone done it??? Which leads me to believe that he is talking about an 02-01 LS1 camaro.

Either way I dont see it happening

I'd guess it'll take 525rwhp in a 4th gen....good luck ever hooking it up.

Mini tub and run a 335 bfg drag radial.

Yep, Rodney is referring to his "new" Camaro, an '02 LS1 he bought last week!

I think the rear will last for a pass or so!
