Default Which Kirkey fits best???

What Kirkey are you guys using?
Seat Layback: degree
Depth (in):
Height (in):
Width (in):

Me and my grandfather both race the car and we are both pretty big framed and he needs a seat that is pretty easy to get in and out of.
I think I want something like the pic attached. I didn't know there were so many different seats though untill I got looking.

if you want something easy to get in and out of in an fbody then a kirkey is probably not the best option. but i have a kirkey economy drag seat for sale.

I bought the kirkey prostreet drag seats, they don't have the side bolsters so getting in and out is alot easier then the ones that have them.

I know alot of people do that swiss cheese thign, but I really wonder how sturdy the seat is after that... removing the factory seats and putting these in that only weigh 13 lbs if you're really after losing a little extra maybe doing that to the passengers's side would be o.k., but the drivers seat I'd be a little hesitant, maybe small holes spaced out more... I wouldn't use a huge hole saw like that pic above has in the upper portion.

KIR-41700's here...I used to run them in my rockcrawler JEEP, and loved them. I just got another set for the HOSS last month. For what they are with the covers they are very comfortable and super light.

I just bought for my TA. I looked at the Kirks, but I figured these were more comfortable. I actually went and sat in them. They are nice. My grandpa has a SandDragster with kirks and I never liked the way it sat.

How much do those weigh?
What part number are they?

I still like the kirkey but I don't want to buy one that don't fit.

Ok I am looking at the Kirkey prostreet it is availible from 15"-20" wide.
Who has the widest with a cage?
The widest I have heard so far is 17" but will I fit in that size?I have a 42" waist.
Will wider than 17" fit in 98 camaro with cage?

Thanks for the help. I called Kirkey earlier and they said sit on a table and put something on both sides of you and get up and measure in between that space. I did that and got 20". But if you fit fine in a 17" with a 42" waist I would thank I should also. The 17" is alot cheaper than the 20" and I think the 20" would be pushing it for space.

To really need the 20 inch seat, I think you need to have a waist that's about 54 inches LOL I've seen a set of those installed on a 4th gen car, and they didn't even look right they were so wide, but they will fit.

I have 17" Kirkeys, they are more than enough room, I could have gone narrower I guess, I am 36 inch waist and 210 lbs:

FWIW, 19's will fit even with a cage with just a bit of tweaking....

I have a 20" wide Kirkey seat installed in my car. I am 6'7, 300+, with a 44 inch waist. The car had 17" seats in it when I bought it, but they were too tight for me. I mean I fit in them, but I wasn't comfortable.

IMO, the seat looks great in the car. Here is a picture for you guys to see...

Yes the 17's are wider than I need but it's not a big deal. I have Kirkey covers, not the velour ones. If you get the cheaper Kirkeys with the higher sides, it might make it a lot harder to climb in if you have a 10 pt cage.
