Default Pics of my new 383 mocked up

I snapped some pics today of my new 383 after the new intake and throttle body got mocked up on it....

383 half filled LT1 block 4 bolt splayed mains, lunati crank, oliver 6" rods, JE nitrous pistons, AFR 227's, single plane victor E, accufab 4 barrel TB, secondstreetspeed solid roller, dbl chain, canton pan, rear mount distributor and an MSD crank trigger with FAST XFI controlling the whole deal...... 2 stages of juice going on it once we tune it and get it running NA in the car.... looking to make about 700hp naturally aspirated and over 1000hp on both kits... enjoy!

not a completely done job just mostly mocking up the intake and the TB and checking clearances on some parts... still about two weeks out from delivery....

yeah lm we can go motor to motor.... i'm hoping to get a 9 second pass out of it on motor but after talking to my converter guy we don't know if it'll be possible (converter is totally setup to take advantage of the 300-400 shot so it'll be tight on motor) but hell i'd be happy with 10.50's on motor...

He's really selling it???? I know he's been trying to sell it for years on his website but realistically with these cars you'll never get NEAR what you have invested if you sell them.... so he has a buyer lined up right now????

Well running faster than 9.47 I know we can do considering the curbweight of the car now and the power on tap with the new motor... it's when we get closer to that 9.000000 that and faster that i think we'll have to get creative....

I'd like to be the fastest 4th gen with an OEM style engine at least for a little while until someone figures out how to go faster....

I can't say it will be the fastest 4th gen in Northern Cali cause Bowman's single turbo SBC car will dust me off..... but i'll gladly take fastest LS1/LT1 if only for a little while..... hell i only have to go 9.97 to beat nick's time (even though he's stepping it up as well and i'm sure will have something faster real soon)....

Again thanks for all the kind words. I'll get better pictures as the assembly progresses....

[QUOTE]looking to make about 700hp naturally aspirated [QUOTE]

That would be a good one for sure. Be interesting to see if you can pull it off.

Tony Shepherd already pulled it off no???? 535 to the wheels on motor thru a TH400 with a 4000 stall and a 9" rearend has gotta be somewhere around the 700 mark.... i'd like to make around 525-540 with the same drivetrain setup... what's the drivetrain loss for a high stall TH400 and a 9"???? 25%-27%?????

I calculated 25% and from 700hp flywheel you would lose 175hp to the tires (525)..... so 525 to the wheels if 25% is the right loss factor is right around 700.....

last time I tested mine it made 532 rwhp with a 4400 non-lock converter, 4.30 gears, through the mufflers, but never thought it would make 700 on an engine dyno. I would be a pleasantly surprised if it did, that's for certain. I still have factory LT4 head and intake castings on my home built 383". Might put mine on an engine dyno this spring and find out. I'm not sold on those percentages for driveline loss.

Keep us posted on your results.

Godo luck, Ed

Yeah I'm not sold either but i guess the "industry standard" is the only thing we have to go by..... Amazing that you still have the LT4 heads and intake on that thing and still made 532..... I really care less what it makes at the flywheel cause you can't use it all.. hell i'd be happy if it made 535RWHP and 536 on an engine dyno

I'll definitely keep you guys in the loop!
