Trans blanket
How long does it usually take to install one? Doesn't look all that big a deal but was debating putting it on on the track or just put it on at home before I drive the car to the track. What does eveyone usually do?

.
Depends on fit. If it will rub, burn or drag obviously you will only use when needed.
Mock up at home and double check everything, maybe even drive around to make sure. I burned up a blanket many years ago when it moved on me and I was too lazy to check it. Good luck.

I'm looking at this trans blanket http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=3&pcid=143 & have a couple of questions:
Does it wrap all the way around the trans or just the top & sides? Is it supposed to cover the torque converter area too?

That's actually the exact one I ruined. We had a deal getting RCI stuff.
It wraps around entire body of trans. You will also need a flex plate shield,
that blanket is for the trans only NOT including flexplate.
They do have a combo shield, I forgot who makes it, try CSR??
I believe it's black carbon fiber and very expensive??
Sorry I can't remember, all my stuff is built in.

I have the CSR one. Costs about $350 and it's not easy to put on, trans has to come out and you have to grind down some high spots on the tranny. Only weighs about 5lbs so that's good and I don't think it retains much heat at all.
