Default 11.980@112.86,bolt-on car w/tunning issues&2700DA

Well I went to HRP tonight and got a few runs in. My husband made the first 2 passes just checking everything out. Scanmaster reading for the first pass says 906mv & 0.8* KR. So I turn the MAFT to 2% lean @ WOT. Shift points were set up 1-2 +2, 2-3 +1
1st pass
60'-1.617
330'-4.896
1/8-7.655
mph-88.66
braking after 1/8th (raceweight-3380)

Before the 2nd pass we changed the 1-2 to +3, and now the MAFT is at 2% lean @ WOT
2nd pass
60'-1.625
330'-4.926
1/8-7.699
mph-88.27
braking after1/8th
Scanmaster reading: 2.9* KR and 480MV
during the run glancing at scanmaster showed 900mv and 0 KR must have pulled timing and fuel during 1-2 shift...torque management??

Then before the 3rd pass we changed the 1-2 back to +2. So now it's my turn to see what it will do. Wasn't expecting anything spectacular after the other 2 passes so I decided to run the pass all the way out.
3rd pass
60'-1.611
330'-4.868
1/8-7.604
mph-89.45
1000'-9.980
1/4-11.980
mph-112.86
(scanmaster reading: 1.0* KR, 789mv)
tech lady ask if i have a roll bar and fire jacket and i look at her like No...there is no way, she has to be kidding. I was very shocked to see an 11 second pass in this Texas heat and humidity. Then I went to go weigh the car again, and the scale said 3320. Went to go ask some motorcycle racers near us if they knew what the DA was, so they got their weather station out and turned it on, after a while we looked at it and it said 2750

I guess it is time for some tunning now and maybe a cage after that :p

Good run! I`ve got my cage installed and my Et`s ready to go. All I`ve got to do is loose some weight and get some 10`s! Maybe I will meet ya`ll at HRP 1 night! Good luck!

Wow, glad I didn't race you after all! I didn't know what your car looked like so I didn't know who to come up to. Congrats on the 11 sec run. My car wasn't running too hot yesterday. I was hitting the rev limiter real bad and my car was running a little rich too. I'm taking it back to MTI and then give it another try at the track.
3320, was that with you in the car????!
I have a pig I guess, the scale said 3630 with me in it!

CamaroCain--very, very impressive to run in the heat of the summer and break into the elevens for a stock car. I have a car similar to yours and my fastest 1/8 time is 87.87 and fastest in the 1/4 mile is 12.226 in the heat. My goal one way or another is to run 12.00 with a stock car--because you have done it, then I guess it is possible and I have a chance. Would you explain in detail your air intake setup such as fast toys ram air, port and polich throttle body which type, type of bellows, location of transmission cooler whether or not it blocks airflow, etc. My car programming is set for 3:73 gears but I have 4:10's and it shifts to 4th before I reached the end of the quarter--this may be hurting me some timewise and MPH. Your MPH in the quarter has me jealous--but again congratulations. My best MPH in the heat is 110.00 to 110.35. My sixty foot is in your range---maybe I can run a time close to yours. It is nice to know I have a chance with your achievement. Again, please take the time to assist me and again, a great time and run in the HEAT of the Summer. Kent1.

*Vig3600 converter
*radiator mounted tranny cooler - have trans temp guage to monitor and has never gotten too hot
*NEW-i have a custom home made ram air setup, not something you can just go buy from one of our sponsors (Thanks Lane)
*I had the stock bellows on there, althought i do have the SLP one in the garage
*NEW-Bauer ported TB
*I have MAC headers with a custom true dual setup
*I run HALs up front
*3.42 gears
*Hoosier QTP (always HOOK) on convo pros
*TSP Lid w/holley filter
*descreened MAF

Anything else you want to know?

The new mods oviously helped the car out a lot. Because here is a comparison run. This run happened in December, the DA was only 200, and the car was most likely closer to 3250 lb raceweight.

60'-1.623
330'-4.867
1/8-7.599
mph-89.64
1000'-9.976
1/4-11.980
mph-112.61

So the car is definately picking up MPH at the top end now. I was very impressed the car ran so good in the heat...kinda makes me wonder what it would have done if i wasn't having a some problems.

My setup:
4200 Yank
Tranmission Cooler mounted to radiator
Fast Toys Ram Air
SLP Bellows
Port and Polished Shanner TB
FLP Heads with custom true duals
Hals front and back
Hal front drag springs
4:10 gears
Rear Bogards Wheels (26X10X15 ET slicks)
Front Bogards with Goodyear front runners
LS1 Aftermarket Lid (Can't Remember Name)
GMAF

Did the custom ram air setup help you in ET and MPH?

What air pressure do you run in the front and back?

What is your RPM Lauch?

What are you settings on the Hals all around?

Do you do the short belt mod for eleven second run?

By the way, I purchased true duals and the Yank from Lanes if out of DAllAS--Super Nice Guy. I think I may go with the TSP Lid w/Holley filter--I have heard nothing but good with this setup. I have not used the short belt run yet, but I will. CamaroCain you have a great setup all the way around and in good weather the timeslips will be fallings. Thanks for all of your help. Sincerely Kent1

I know it helped in MPH

about 18 in the rear, 40 up front

1500 rpm's

HALs set at 4

Yes I was running the short belt on all 3 passes

Lane is also the guy who did my true dual setup

Thanks CamaroCain. I ran my air pressure at 14 PSI which might hurt my MPH some. Next time out--I will try the 18. One more question and I will be through. What size tire do you run? Is it a nine inch? Cheers

Very nice Lynda. I'm doing a trans swap now. I'll see how mine does this weekend with a good shifting trans.

Congrats Lynda!!! Awesome times, given the conditions.

What kind of gain did you see the short belt? I have yet to do that mod.

Kent - get your car tuned! Your running a stock motor with a pc tuned for a G5 cam and 4.10's when the pc thinks it's got 3.73's... :p

I'm surprised it runs as well as it does!
