WTF?? went to track last night HELP!!! DRAG EXPERTS get in!!
Went to track last night with my bone stock 01 t/a ws6 6 speed. Ran a 13.9 at 103.99 with a 2.26 60 foot at sixty five degrees in Maryland. I had an 98 formula that ran 13.2 with a couple basic mods. I thought the ws6's ran at least 106mph if not more in the quarter and mid to low 13's. I was not powershifting, and need some help. Sixty wasn't very good, but still ran the car twice almost exact numbers....Please help!!!! need POSTS not views!!! Also, was shifting at about redline about six grand every shift...Should i shift at like 5500 when i shift into third or fourth to get more torque?? No Idea like I said please HELP!!!!!!!!

Calm down, get stickier tires and more time shifting at the track. They only run those numbers if you can drive them.

I would get a set of 16" wheels and put either BFG drag radials or ET Streets on them. Another option is to mount Nitto drag radials on your wheels. Nittos are great for a daily driver. If you are dead set against either of those, Nitto makes some regular radials that hook decent. I would go ahead and get an aftermarket shifter and shift light, which should help you be more consistent. Just get the 60' down and you'll get the times you want. But the only way to do that consistently is some good tires (unless you are a master at launching).

tires, tires, tires. also i recomend shifting at near redline (so about 6000 rpms) to get best ET. just practice and no matter why, poor track prep and/or poor stock tires wont hold 350 hp your motor makes. good luck and you will get there. nittos will pull 2.0 pretty easily slowing coming off the line will produce it. the low mph could be a combo of low shift points and definately air quality in teh summer.

Put a set of ET streets on the back, set at 13-15 psi.Do a nice 10 sec burnout.Rev to 6000 rpm,and dump the clutch on the last yellow.Keep it stomped on all shifts, don't lift until the finish line. This will net best et, if your drivetrain holds up.Practice and more practice will also help.

ET Streets may be a bit much, but BFG DR would work perfect. Don't waste money on 16"; get 15" less rotating mass. Agree with 5-8 second burn out; dump at about 5,000 (6,000 may be a bit much on a stock rear-end). Powershifting will help also.
BUT the bigest is air-density and track prep. Better on both A/D and prep will get you better times. Summer is not the best time to get "new bests".
