Weighed some MT DR 325 50 15's after 3 runs
After 3 1/8th mile runs and 100 street miles, I removed them and weighed them before I shipped them to a customer.
Here were the results (first tire)
FYI, the other tire weighed approximately 35.15
we thought we would post up in case anyone was interested

I shipped two 315's out, mounted on AFS ZR1 17 x 11's ... weighed 118 lbs total for 2 wheels AND tires. If you take off the weight of the wheels (52 lbs both wheels) ... comes out to about 33 lbs per tire and I had two passes and about 300 miles on them, so, the weight for your 325's looks right on the money.

Here is the M/T website and if you click on the tires the weight is there for all of them... http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php

That's cool info, yes 99% of tire companies already list weight and hight and width, but also 99% of the time the info isn't correct. Close but hardly any tire I have ever had or seen is exactly the same size as they list.

I wieghed a set of 315/35/17 MT's at 33 lbs each. On my budnik Hammers they weigh 55 lbs mounted and balanced. They are 5 lbs heavier than the same size BFG, but hook like hell! lol

Yeah, my 315's hooked like crazy but the wheels and tires were too much rotating mass for my level of power. So, I sold my AFS 17x9.5/17x11 and tires.
Went back to Nitto's and '02 WS6 17x9's on all corners and picked up ET/MPH. Of course, with the MT Street DR's, my 60' time is my best on those MT 315's with my TA set at 0 ... LCA's set in the relo bracket's hole even on a shitty launch ... 1.707.
After going back to Nitto 275's, TA set to -1.5 and LCA's set in relo bracket lowest hole ... best 60' has been 1.768.
I'm ordering another pair in a 275 width and expect to be cutting 1.6x's with no problem ... hoping for 1.5x's ... who knows ... front swaybar is off now as well ... never know.
I figured if Caveman at 1200 HP is cutting 1.2x's-1.3's on pretty much the same tire (325's I believe), well then, why would my little 400+ HP need a 315? And if I can stick a 1.768 on Nitto's launching at 1,600 rpm ... 275 MT's should be a good tire for me weight-wise.
Erik, thanks for posting and sorry to ramble ... this is what I was wanting to see ... an accurate weight vs bathroom scales. Thanks for posting with pic. Shows my bathroom scales are pretty accurate and I REALLY DO need to to the driver weight mod ... lol!

Sorry if I miscommunicated what I was trying to say ... never been real good with words. If I make a mistake comparing tires, well, I don't have alot of racing experience so don't dig my grave for it.
Yeah ... agree with what I think you're saying ... maybe I didn't word it right, but, my point was more geared towards not needing a super-wide, overly-heavy tire to cut a good 60' time ... with me only pushing a little over 400+ at the wheels.
Second meaning was, I am going back to a MT Street DR in a 275 width ... a little wider and stickier than a Nitto 275 ... will make my 5th pair of Mt Street DR's, so, not new to the tires.
As for comparing a 325/50/15 to a 315/40/17, that was more from a width standpoint MT DR vs MT DR. It was not meant to say they are equal in any way except a 325 MT DR width is about 1/2" more than in a 315 width.

Interesting find Erik. I thought the ET Street Radials felt heavier than my drag slicks, but never weighed them.
JEB99TA, You should always try and make the car hook on the smallest tires width possible. Increased rolling resistance means a slower time.

10.91 @ 122 1.391 60' time
6.9 @ 99.x 1/8th mile that same run
lol
hammered out of the hole but really couldnt take advantage of it b/c it slowed the car down from about 330' on to the finish line. my combo flat out didnt make enough power. but she will soon.
that and they look pimp as **** IMO

case in point. when i first threw on my 325 radials. my time slip looked like this:
10.91 @ 122 1.391 60' time
6.9 @ 99.x 1/8th mile that same run
lol
