Default What do you think about BFG DR's?

Looks like MT is on back order so im forced to go with the BFG DR. I drive the car some so i wanted a tire i could drive around on but i want a tire that will still hook in the 1.4 60ft. range that im used to.

Will the BFGs hook 1.40s for me or am i stupid for even thinking about buying them? 275/50/15s

I know M/T is on national backorder with them moving or something like that.

Seems some can get the BFG's to work but nowhere near as soft as a M/T. I've seen the Hoosier's cut a good 60 foot, and there's always Good Year....

they are decent but definatly not as good as the MT's. I am just glad you are not going with the nittos.

The hoosiers would be a good choice to get you by.

Are you talking about the hoosier DRs? Good Year are out of the question with them being to big for what i need and the prices are very exspensive at that.

Nittos are a joke for a drag tire.

Oh dont say that, I just bought some... Couldnt pass up the deal they were $100 cheaper then what they are at Jegs. I only go to the track maybe once a year and im running maybe 310rwhp on a stock gear stall A4 so I should be fine.

when I had the stock motor with a stall and a few boltons I couldnt get any traction with the 315 nittos(2.00 60ft)I put on the 315 bfg`s and got 1.66-1.70 everytime

From what I hear you have to heat the snots out of them. I will be running the 245/50/16 flavor which might be better than the 315's due to the bigger sidewall.

I actually had to heat my M/T more than by BFG's. I ran a 1.58 on my BFG's and didnt know a thing about the car.Knowing what I know now I feel confident the BFG will 60ft very close to the M/T.

I am in the same boat as you on rear tires....I have 28x10.5W's on the car now and I dont like them, as in the way they drive. I have gotten so used to the radials I am spoiled. With my Detroit Locker they woller around all over the place. Makes me nervous.

I used to get my BFG's at Wal Mart of all places, they no longer sell BFG tires. Sams club still shows to sell them, a 325/50 is $178.12

I may have to go back to BFG because I know them, I know nothing and have heard nothing on how a Hoosier works on a 10 sec car with alot of weight.

I cut consistant 1.6's with the bfg's and they will dip into the 1.5's for me with stock suspension!

After talking to a reliable source that claims the hoosier DR hooks as good as the MT DR that leaves me no choice to try the hoosier DR out to see. The only downside im told is that the Hoosier wear fast if you drive around alot on them.

I have cut a 1.43 on the MT DR's on motor and if the Hoosier DR can do the same then i'll have to try the 150 shot in first gear I will put them to the test to see if they are as good as the MT.

The Hoosiers work, but talk about a short life span.
