TEA As Cast Vs DART Cylinder Heads- Dyno Results Inside!!!!
This is a nice A/B comparison. Customer came in to get his combo tuned after installing everything himself. Car is a C5 Z06 with a forged shortblock/all bolt ons and an FMS F14 camshaft (low 230s duration)... After making 418 to the tires several times the owner wasnt too excited with the results. He stressed that he wanted more power but didnt want to go up in camshaft and lose the drivability he has. We showed him a set of the TrickFlow 220cc As Cast Cylinder heads and told him these heads should produce 15 to 20 more RWHP over the Darts and he could sell his Darts to offset the cost. So off came the Darts and on went the TrickFlows..... NO OTHER CHANGES WERE MADE. Results are below...
19rwhp gain
17rwtq gain
This is thru a full exhaust and an LS6 intake. Not too shabby for a set of 1679.00 Budget Cylinder heads

Very nice a - b comparison.
As usual Ron, right on the money. You said 15-20 and he picked up 19 rwhp and 17 rwtq. How do you think his combo would do with one of your ported 92mm FAST intakes ?? Another 15 rwhp over the ls6 intake ??
"full exhaust" ??? Stock exhaust with cats and mufflers, or does he have headers with cats and muffs ??

As usual, good job Ron. Did you ever mention what you expected one of your ported 92mm FAST intakes would add to this setup ? I didn't see if you did. I must've missed math class too.

Isn't his power still low for a low 230's cam, TFS heads, and LS6 intake?
Heck I made 420rwhp on yalls dyno with a junk reverse split cam and ported 243's and LS6 intake, and I thought that was low.

I was planning on puttin my Comparison dyno result up and BAM!!!! Ron beats me to it!!! LOL This is my car guys and the Dart heads were 205cc. Im not a product basher so I will keep my opinion of Dart's heads to myself. Ron and Mike at Vengeance have played a huge part in the growth of my vette and its power increase. I have learned that this guys know alot about what it takes to make HP. Removing and swapping heads is a day job for me and the trade off was well worth it. I got a great set of TrickFlow ascast heads that I can continue to grow with at a outstanding price. I bought the Dart heads early last year and have changed multiple things including motors, cams, ect. So I can say the Darts have been tested and tested over and over. Never got any numbers that made me a fan. So when I finally listened to the advise given by Vengeance-- I see results. The car has a decent cam in it with the F14.
The car drives like stock thanks to another masterpeace of tuning from Mike.
My car did run into a few issues with the LS7 clutch shittin da bed on the dyno, we had to keep stopping due to clutch heating and slight slip. The stock injectors were at capacity as well. Even with those issue I drove out of Vengeance with a great tune and a big smile . So thanks guys and I will be getting the necessary Tex. clutch and injectors soon.

i wonder what kind of results would happen if those were dart 225's? or if you would have had your 205's hand ported by tea

Definitely a nice gain for the money spent, in the end! I was originally thinking of going with Darts on my LS1, but more and more there seem to be better choices even for the money.
