Default Cam only with ported FAST 92

Well, somebody had to try it. I'm pretty pleased with the gains considering the stock 853 heads. It basically lost nothing down low and gained up top. Props to Tony Mamo for the port work on the intake and big thanks to Craig and v8pwr for helping me get everything ready for the install.

Baseline:
TSP lid, stock descreened MAF, Jantzer ported TB, LS6 intake

Changes:
FTP 85mm lid, SLP 85mm MAF, NW 92mm TB, ported FAST 92mm intake

SAE numbers were 394/368 before and 404/373 after. The graph has a more extensive mod list. Keep in mind this is through a 9" and steel driveshaft.

Last but not least, big thanks to Mike Norris He does awesome work and is a great guy. I highly recommend him.

Fullsize graph can be seen here

Congratulations...
I agree with Damian...
It seems that most of the M6 LS1s with cam, headers, LS6/fast intake and basic bolt-ons are averaging 400 rwhp +/-.

Thanks for the info.

The changes really didn't net you that much power at all. The total results are good for being cam only. A real set of heads would help you out a ton.

Word on the street is that he will drive 7 hours just to help a friend out

I didn't really expect them to with stock heads. 10 rwhp was the most I expected to see, and of course the 853 heads are not scheduled to be in the final picture

Nice gain for a cam-only car. That will definitely help you out down the road when you throw a nice set of heads on the car.

i would have expected more from a tony mamo ported fast, 85mm lid and 85mm maf swap...wonder what the 85mm setup gave by itself...

nice gains though, lets see what it will do with some heads...

I've been wanting to do the same thing... If I buy a Fast, I know I have to buy heads soon. If I buy heads first, I'll tell my self I'm happy with the LS6 intake!

Nice numbers!!! With a nice set of heads you will break 450 even with your power robbing drivetrain.

Not bad gains at all. Definitely has me thinking that it'd be money better spent after a set of heads though.

It definitely makes sense to do it after the heads. That's what everybody does, so I figured I would do it backwards so we could see how the numbers work out

This is an older video but it still sounds the same (only difference now is an H pipe instead of an X).

Yeah, it's definitely cool to see people doing things out of the norm to see how the results stack up!

Ouch, what am I not seeing. It looks like 1800$ of hardware and tune and you get 10HP all above 5800RPM. I would be careful turing 6800RPM on stock bottom end. Sorry if I missed something.
